New England - Maine coastal area - MOLD

Many growers in the northeast experience shorter than normal outdoor growing seasons. Some test the weather and usually run "late" into the NE season and get bud rot. I have heard of some places using a bleach water mixture to prevent or treat it.

Has anyone grown in this area? Any mold issues?

its more dependant on the exact area your in like a valley, on a hillside, next to a lake etc,. because these areas can have there own special little micro-climates that makes them completely separate and unique when compared to their surrounding areas.

if your getting mold issues grow more plants with more sativa like bud structures not dense indicas that are prone to botrytis.

Isn't there a specialized bacteria that can help fight the bud mold?
I think mycostop is like a special fungus that fights it, ive never used it though. if you have a botrytis problem its best to just find a strain that is built to withstand it rather than have to keep buying tons of meds just to keep your plants somewhat healthy.

an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Well yes that is true. But not all strains or desirable strains poses such characteristics.
Check out old threads for new England, you will have to make list and run in your area and pick which ones you would run again.what run good in one spot does go well not far away.i shoot for high thc, good yielding and mold resistant so if they have to get cut early they still are good.and depending on weather some don't always do the same year to year.

Its preventive. I don't usually use anything like that or much Eagle 20. I have used Eagle 20 in the past indoors on the plants in veg about to go into bud just to ensure any spores are gone and the bud rooms stay clean, but outdoors I wanted to know of any tips or strategies for fighting and preventing mold issues. Using inline fans I seen helped to dry out plants from "staying" wet. SubCool420 uses a bacteria that is mixed a foliar feed that is organic as you can get that kills bud mold and doesn't effect the plant. This is not as effective as Eagle 20 but that stuff is toxic. Kyle Kushman has a recipe for mixing up a foliar spray using synthetics and organics as a mold/pest/feed spray.

So from what Ive gathered it really depends on where you are...almost season to season. So there are basically many "Micro" weather/environments systems all over the NE.

Any strains that are resilient in the NE? I know GDP, Northern Lights, Blue Dream and White Widow grow nicely in that area.

Do you usually choose short cycle strains?...do you look for mold resistant strains or is it just what is in demand?
we use strains that you put out the first of june and they are done by mid /late sept before the shitty coastal weather starts most of the strains we use have been conditioned to the area
