first autos ever....

Merry Christmas fellow human beings! Ok first time I've ever grown auto flower cannabis. Basically moved and went from a beautiful 10x10x8 bedroom with 3 1000 watt mh/hps to a 3x3x5 grow tent...yay me....but anyway I have a U.K Cheese auto and a Super Skunk auto I ran a 2 foot 8 tube T5HO 6500k for the first 3 weeks they are in pre- flower so I dropped the t5 and put in a 150 watt hps. Yes I know 400 watt would be better but I have to vent back into the room the tent is in and I'm only growing 2. So what I'm asking is...Is the t5 better for flower or the 150 hps? I know with photos the answer would be 150 hps. Also could I put the t5 back in there, hang it vertical down one of the walls? It would be more than 10 inches from one plant further for the other or is it just a waste of electricity? Any info would be cool as I know jack shit about autos.

yea waste of electricity, just use the 150hps

Looking good man,if you felt confident enough id tie some of those lateral branches down some..open those plants up.Check out the sticky on lst.

the 2 foot 8 tube T5HO 6500k just plain sucks,

I've used both T8's and T5's for years and the 4 foot tubes wins every time

your 150w hps kicks out 46k lux at 4 inches or 7334 lux at 10 inches

compare that to an average T5 bank of 4 x54w tubes at 4450 lumen

making 17800, theres still not enough in it ....so

I'd buy in another 150w hps, if it gets too hot simply turn one off

Looking good buddy, you may want to think about dropping the light a bit and doing some LST/training to fit those girls under better/ a little more evenly but they look great for that age man good job.

Just curious, how tall would you say each of those plants are in the picture? I find pictures can be misleading in size! I am in week 9 of my first auto grow. At day 21 my 4 autos were 6 - 8 inches tall, 8-10 inches wide. Your bigger one definitely seems bigger than that, I could be wrong.

My main piece of advice for you echos the other guys^ , do some lst! I waited till week 5-6 to lst and that was too late. My main cola is about 6-8 inches above everything else, which isn't ideal.

My plants double to trippled in size in week 4, and then doubled in size again in week 5, week 6 almost no vertical growth. So now is the time to tie em down!

Btw, I dig the Lowe's buckets :)

Plants are 27 days old the left one is 17 1/2 tall 12 to 14 wide the skunk is just as wide but only 14 tall

At day 28 my blue dream was 21" but my white widow only 9" definitely strain specific.

One other thought, I saw you started with some bloom nutrients. If you read the link above, he recommends waiting with flower nutes till week 5-6. I'm not convinced giving it flower nutes early will actually shorten the grow like he says, but I do think it could run out of N. Do any of those products you listed contain significant N? If not I would recommend at least alternating a veg nute for a couple weeks yet. Even though it flowered, it's not really in bud mode yet, really just starting it's biggest veg mode! Just my 2 cents though! Any other ideas on this?

Thanks man.....this was the only thing I could do without breaking a branch the main stock is about dime size already and side branches are sturdy and thick to till ya get toward the top.....I switched plant.position too

I am new to autos also, going to follow your grow once I find out how to follow grows lol. Your plants look very healthy, I would give you a like if I could figure that out also. Keep up the good work.

Any advice you might need just hit me up I've been growing a long time but these of the first Auto that I've ever done it was definitely a learning experience
