wifey got me a new .17 heavy barrel and a bipod with a monster scope 6x24x42mm mildot adjustable objective ..... and the fam all went in on a new smoker ... so i had to make some jerky to break it in right

Nice. Last time I heard, it's still ok to ship jerky by snail mail. hehe haha

That's funny. About 10 mins before I saw your post, I was just telling my wife its time to do some jerky. I use a simple 5 round tray dehydrator about once a month. ~3 lbs a run of whatever is lean and on sale. Never weighed the finish product.

The kids and I have a "beef jerky competition" every once in a while. We each get a tray and spice em up differently. Well I get 3.

that batch got a bit fubar'd i had some crushed red pepper that i made a few years ago and forgot that it was too hot to eat .... and that was what i used ..... its pretty good until your throat melts

i usually use deer but i got the itch after smoking 2 ham's and a turkey on xmas eve straight through to xmas morning ......
