One of my best friends is going through a very similar situation. Thanks for the prayers. I keep hoping it will help. My son's even praying now - that's something he hasn't done in 15 years. Now he's worried about us (his parents) dying. We've been there for him every time he got into trouble. But now he's started to wonder what would happen if we weren't there. He's scared now. If the folks at RMH would have kept him in the hospital and given him another shot of Invega, I think he would have killed himself.
I managed to get him an appt with a Psychiatrist yesterday. This Dr. is one of the few who are well versed in alternative healthcare, but he will also prescribe standard psychotropic drugs, if it seems warranted. He gave my son a prescription for Prozac, which he thought would probably help with the depression while the effects of the Invega wear off. It actually worked like a charm last night. But this morning he reported a rather sleepless night with zero dreams, and feeling bad again. I guess that's better than the nightmares he's been having, but still not normal. After another Prozac, a trip to the gym, and breakfast, he got much better for a little while. But now he's back in the dumps again, wondering whether life is worth living.
He has many of the same problems that you do - depression, anxiety, and the rage, which is scary for all of us. I have often thought he could easily become a headline one day. He's starting to realize that his method of getting what he wants through being tough, unrelenting, and strong-willed isn't working any more. But he doesn't have the skills or tools he needs to relate to people. He got evicted from his apartment, got served a restraining order (again), suspended from school for a year, and didn't get a part time job that he wanted. Now he's living with his parents again, with nothing to do. It's sad.
He just tried some new CBD vape oil with nicotine. It also seems to help a little bit - but not enough.
It's too bad that the weed everyone smokes now is so unbalanced in favor of high THC being the 'gold standard'. It's not gold - at least not for some of us. Resin needs the CBD to balance out the negative side effects of the THC.
ya have to give the guy a bit of credit for putting it out there...rick simpson...
lol.

Please explainya have to give the guy a bit of credit for putting it out there...
even if it is rather rustic
Just wondering? Everyone has a right to an opinionnothing nvm.
Thanks to all for your support. This is an awesome site with some good people. I’ve already lost my youngest brother to mental illness. Now I’m just trying to save my son. He’s been opposed to doing any testing until now. He finally admits there may be a problem. I googled Pharmasan Labs. They sound great. The doctor we’re seeing now is already talking about doing some tests, after the pharmaceuticals have left the body. He’s the best one we’ve seen yet. He was PO’d about the Invega shot. My son called him twice and left a voice mail. Both times the doctor called him back with some advice and a different prescription. Finally, an MD who doesn’t do Russian Roulette with his patients, and actually cares about them. Yay. He has some ideas about good supplements, and probably other routes. One of my best friends is going through a very similar situation.
He self medicated with mj and stopped taking the long list of meds that the doctor prescribed.
He is doing significantly better now. He also exercises a lot and that really helps with depression. I find it really helps with my depression as well. His doctor isn't very open to mj and won't prescribe it and his mother is a nurse who is very against it. She calls the cops on him if she ever finds that he's using mj. Which triggers his rage and he ends up in the psych ward. (He's manic depressive, extreme adhd, major anger issues, even has the odd hallucination, not sure what that's from)
Your son is lucky to have you as a mother who is willing to think outside the box and get him the help he needs. All the best.
One other thought, magnesium citrate might help. One of my best friends is going through a very similar situation.

Interesting... the "Dream Herb".Mugwort
We've tried to explain these things to her and she really just dismisses it and doesn't care enough to even look at evidence or even legitimate medical documentation. Thanks to all for your support. I haven’t mentioned the CBD oil yet. It is kinda new research, and I’m not sure if he’ll be on board. I’ve ordered a couple of seeds to grow, but I haven’t gotten the nerve to do it yet – 3 Lighthouse seeds and 5 Stephen Hauking Kush. But they are both higher in THC than I wanted. If I could find some hemp seeds, I’d even try to do some amateur crossbreeding and try to come up with another Charlottes Web. Maybe I’ll call it Hilary’s Hemp.
I think my husband will flip when he finds out.
NSBudCa, you might consider telling your friend’s mother, the nurse, that European and Isreali doctors are using Marijuana that’s extremely high in CBD to treat PTSD, Schizophrenia, and other mental health issues. It works as well as pharmaceuticals, but without the side effects. She might also check out Dr. Abram Hoffer (the original Orthomolecular Psychiatrist), Andrew Saul at Doctoryourself.com, and the SafeHarbor Website. All terrific Alternative healthcare resources for mental health.
My son’s doing a little better today. He went out by himself today to check into a job possibility. He’s calling this whole thing a ‘life-changin’ experience. I hope so.
I'm trying to get a friend with colon cancer to try it as a suppository. She's not convinced. That would be an ideal situation because of the proximity, as you mentioned. I've used CBD directly on a couple of pre cancerous skin conditions' and it cleared them up.show what i say?
there was a pic of a bum hole filled with fruit loops that was made famous and banned. im not sure replacing with weed would change acceptance
no ive never had cancer, and i didnt argue cancer fighting effects.....
im taking your excited marks as excitement? now your just being weird bro
and again, im not trying to deter anyone from using weed medically. but using my background in drug design and delivery as well as actually developed/developing upcoming pharmaceutical preparations of cannabis i am confident in what i say.
im simply trying to remove misinformation from a less informed source. anything i say is backed with scientific literature and studies. as well as the vocabulary to explain why it is so.
why would you think the colonic absorption somehow puts more thc in the blood but doesnt give a high? how would this be possible, think about it.
as i said this can definitely be useful with certain ailments, namely in proximity
pardon my ignorance on the subject but wouldn't the coconut oil change the logp or perhaps act as a trojan horse? I just read some mct's can go as low as 1.8lno it does not get more meds into system however, this may be why you say it looses the high. yes it can be better for certain cancers namely in proximity. lecithin again would be counter productive in this case like most
thc has a logp of about 7
In practice optimum colonic absorption is 1.32, intestinal is 1.35, oral 1.8, Cns 2, percutaneous at 2.6 and sublingual 5.5.
this essentially has to do with polarity. every method of delivery besides classic ingestion bypasses the liver, and yiu can still do this in the belly. but your liver isnt really taking anything away
