Kessil Club 2015

They are very intense and can fry seedlings. I keep them 3 to 4 feet above in veg.

I bought the spectral spinner light mover and had the most incredible indoor veg growth speed I have ever seen. I also added an H350 Deep Purple light to mix at the same time.

The above picture is looking down at the light leak from the H350 Magenta and Deep Purple lights in my veg cabinet. This is my 9 foot tall veg cab:

Interesting info Mohican, thx! So do you stick with the reccomended 18" for H150 and 24" for the H350? Or do you get them up a little higher because of the intensity? Wondering what heights you find to be the sweet spots for the individual Kessil models? You also mentioned how they can damage plants. Do you lower them in peak flower? For instance taking a H350 down to 12" in flower or do you have better results with coverage higher up?
 
I had one opportunity to flower but had to supplement with CFLs. My only experience is with vegging and I think higher up with more lights works much better.
 
My previous experience with flowering was fantastic with two Kessil H350's. I simply hung both at 24" over a single 5 gallon blueberry lady.
As flowering progressed I lowered them to 16". One was deep purple and the other magenta. I did not need to suppliment any CFL with this amount of light on one big girl. Even the bottom flowers and tiniest of popcorn ripned nicely. I think the blend of a mixed spectrum makes a big difference.
 
That is what I like to hear! I could not believe how fast everything grew when I added the Deep Purple. Now I have two H380s to add to the spinner and then I will see what works the best - more blue or more red.
 
I have your red one.and the magenta. The magenta has not.worked again. I just tried it.even to see. You had said it.didn't work and left it for.some time. Worked a few weeks for me and then went out. I checked it out. Must be a driver.

I think it stops when it overheats. I had a car that would do the same thing. A cracked magnet in the electronic rotor would get hot and stop working.

I bought those lights used and cheap on the interwebs. Probably not worth sending back but I wouldn't mind tinkering with it myself.
 
None of my new Kessil products had problems (except the spinner!). It's the lights I got second hand off of eBay that are running hot and pooping out.
 
My first H380 arrived. Couldnt pass it up for $270 shipped. Wow, cant believe it but looks slightly smaller than the H350! Not to mention more power, switchable, and UVB. I also dig the ac cable improvement and extension cable the provide. Cant wait to see what she can do.
 
Congratulations! Have you turned it on yet?

I had to get a pair of sunglasses for the grow room!

Lol, yea. Click Purple, click Magenta, click Purple again! Let me stop. Theres no way you can look straight into it. I want one more to complete the set of 4 now.
