In dwc if your roots are not out of the plug, fill your water level up to the bottom of the plug or just below and the bubbles should keep it moist. If the roots are out of the plug, fill the water level up to the bottom of the roots and the bubbles will keep them moist. The roots will reach for the water and grow incredibly fast in dwc, but I never hand water anything but seeds when they're starting in my dwc.

I'm doing flood and drain and starting with seeds, thats why I'm talking about hand watering at first. although it would be nice to have some sort of bubbler contraption that could fit 5" net pots so i could water them and get them ready for the 1 gallon pots. thank you for that info dude, i appreciate it!!

I use a big measuring cup and slowly pour evenly. Depending on how dry the plug is, the more or less I focus on watering the plug or around the plug. You can use small net pots and transplant, no biggy, it'll be fine and accomplish the same thing

Also, I wouldn't worry about watering too much, 1x a day evenly watered will be fine. You can use a bigger light, but the cloner the light is, the more the plant wants to grow, and if it's focusing on growing up top rather than getting some good roots first, it'll grow funky. You can use any light, just make sure it's a couple feet away depending on how many watts, you don't want a hid light too close to seedlings, but you don't want it too far either or they'll stretch, that's why I like t5 or t8 lights because it's not alot of watts but you can put them close to avoid stretch and plants love them when they are young

fucking alpha always coming through with the facts thank you so much for clearing that up. i can tell i already kind of messed up the 2 ak48 plants i have going right now. i just realized my ballast can dim 50%&75% but I'm afraid that it could be damaging to my hortilux bulb so I'm a bit hesitant on doing that cause I'm afraid it'll mess up the bulb or mess with the plants that are used to 100% so I'm going to keep those for ak48 for now to see how they make out (hopefully they can make it) but i already planted some sensi northern lights in the rapid rooters and I'm going to try your technique and i have a lot of faith it will work this time. you're the man alpha!!! much respect!!
