4x4 tent with a 4x4 screen of course.. 4 plants, 2 or 4 different strains, 4 weeks veg(from seed), perpetual.. dual bulb 8 inch raptor, no co2, would I be able to one, fill the screen enough before I flip with that weeks veg.. I'm doing a heavily amended super soil. I would really like to pull 2 lbs.. maybe dual 6s under the single hood. would it be a bitch to cool? in a tent with this? should I do 2 1000s?

I'm looking for any and all input. suggested strains for something like this.. best intake/in line fans ac necessary or not.. cfm requirements, best lighting options.. def don't wanna run co2 though.. but I def want to run dual bulb single hood and pull 2lbs and super soil and 4 plants. I ordered these strains..

That 4x4 tent will only handle one six hundred. Maybe a 1k if you had killer ac and kept them low enough. 2 600s is too much light. You should be able to pull a lb of a six hundred. Id use tomato cages instead of a screen if you want to do perpetual.

Two of any light will be difficult to fit in4X4.

I did a 1000w in a 5X5 and it was a bitch to cool down below 78f.

A 600 fills a 4x4 and a 1000 fills a 5x5 space. Ive never in my life ran a tent. I had an 8x8x4 cab once and i put a window mounted ac in the side of it. My suggestion would be some type of portable unit and air cooled hoods.

Well... i did 1.5lbs consistently in that 5x5 with a 1000w and that was when i first started...

It took me two grows to get to the 1.5lb mark then i did that 3 times in a row before i built a bigger tent with a/c.

So...if you dialled in a 5x5 with a 1000w you could do close to 2lbs...

There's a lot of naysayers here, I'm quite sure you could effectively run and cool two 600W lamps in there, provided you built the cooling system properly; the cooling air comes from outside the room the tent is in and returns there with a minimum of twists and turns, the ventilation fan sucks the air through said ventilation system and does it near the exit to the room or even outside.

The tent itself will also need ventilation. Maybe the plants would keep up with their RH needs but however it's done, you'd want to maintain it in the fifties or sixties to help the plants handle all that light.

You will probably want a hydro system to ensure the plants are always, ALWAYS hydrated. Keep the light up near the top of the tent, there's no point jamming it onto the plants as the light will be reflected by the tent walls. This will help with diffusion and penetration but you still will only want a canopy depth of no more than 15". SCRoG your girls so they don't get tall, that's just a waste of time and vertical space.

I think you'll have trouble rotating four plants through the tent perpetual style, it's just too tight. You'll need more tents for that.

Once you have all the above in place, you might want to revisit your aversion to co2- because by then the results would be well worth it.

So now that I just said all the above, consider an alternative; purchase or DIY 800W of COB LED lights, do the same thing at canopy level and skip the whole "glass box that kills light with a wind tunnel running through it" idea altogether? Once you factor in the difference in expense to cool your space, COB LED is much more cost competitive than people may realize.

I did four plants, vegged 5 to 6 weeks; 600w MH for veg and 750/1000w HPS for flower. no scrog then... a little bit of LST.

ducting from inside the room a ways away from the ten >>> into tent onto cool tube ... from cool tube out the tent to a 6" inline fan pulling (440CFM)>>. then out a window. That was enough to cool the 1000w during fall/winter/spring. I didn't run in summer. I used a speed controller to control temps on that fan.

Also, I piped in fresh air right into the tent with a 4" muffin fan and exhausted with a filter inside the tent through ducting to a 4" inline fan (120 CFM) outside the tent then out a window...

appreciate all the help..and I won't necessarily be rotating them. I'll have twelve plants at one time when it's set.. and also I plan on having multiple veg tents. 3 seedling slash veg and 1 flower. because I will be cutting down 4 plants cleaning tent and planting 4 more same day.

I will be scrogging, but these leds? have a link to one that is comparable to 1000-1200 watts of hps that I can buy and also how is veg growth rate compared to hps or mh? what kind of gpw you achieving? cause my goal is 1.5-2 lbs and only a 4 week veg. I also rather not hydro cause I'm afraid of the maintenance plus the maintenance of a perpetual.

If you aren't going to want to put in some extra time and effort to get the best you can from the setup then you really don't want to run more than 600W in there, otherwise you'll be disappointed.

600? and aim for what kind of yields..I wish I had the time but I work a bunch of hours and it's not that I am not willing it's just I also have a job and family and couldn't keep up with it if I tried. that's why I wanna do super soil and was even considering blumats.

what is the extra time and effort you're talking about? so my biggest issue would be keep them hydrated? something like watering soil, my younger brother can do while I'm at work I just don't want him to be doing it all. and if I don't run hydro I shouldn't even try running 2 6s?

I'd say you should get a couple of grows under your belt before shooting for the stars. The grow you outlined would be a very fast grow and would get out of hand quickly without constant attention.
