Can you make seeds with feminized plants?

New to site but not new ifn ya know what I mean. Just need a little info I can not find the answer too.

Can a feminized seed strain be pollinated with regular pollen to produce seeds that will be viable and not turn a stable reg strain crossed into it into hermies? I have never grown anything but regular male/female genetics and have some new femme strains that I want to hit with a very stable and select original BG C99 poppa. I don't want to create herms at all. The C99 has never shown any herm tendencies. I want to create some new flavors that can be back crossed into a mom in the cubing process. But I hope for male /female stability in the new genes.

Any real knowledgeable input appreciated.

ive ran lots iof feminized seeds, very few herm in a good enviroment. i apply bits of stress to females to be sure they will not herm easily.. if its a strong female that doesnt herm, go ahead and pollinate. seeds should be viable and plant a few. seeds should take 50% genes from both mother and father if both are strong,, seeds will be strong as well.

Thank you C.Rex for the reply. Sorry if I worded my questions weird... My examples were not well fleshed out. I have made a few crosses in the past but have never used fem'd strains. Lots of freebie beans are offered as fems. Some are attempts to preserve and pass on clone momma traits only by selfing. Just didn't know if they could be used in a breeding project effectively. Say like C99 male to a fem'd GSC. Then said beans grown and selected for backcrossing. The Cindy and Apollo strain lines were and are very stable as well NL#5. Figured it may help in a cross to fem'd products.

Also thanks Chemist. I guess I will learn all I need soon enough... well in a few months...LOL!

Jim I will have to look closer into your claims. Colloidal silver is good for a lot of things but for manipulating genes I it find dubious. The truth is out there... now just got to find it.

This is a sticky issue. Yes you can pollinate a fem seed plant and make reg seed BUT will it hermie??? Thats a million dollar question. Even stable genetics hermie. So...getting back to ur question. If the feminized seed plant you are pollinating was created by C.S. application, then there is a good chance u will be ok. We just dont know what method of feminizing allot of these breeders are using.

There was a guy on here went by name Kite High. He had some terrific write ups on the subject. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but his journals should still be available. Look for his threads or journals.

Now...I have bred fem plants that were created using the CS application. They did fine outdoors but I encountered nanner problems indoors. However...in many of those crosses the nanners usually showed up late in flowering...week 6 or so. Typically not a issue if ur running a 8 week finisher as you need at least 30 to 45 days to make a viable seed. In Two weeks time u never even see seed development.

Now...ask any real breeder and this subject is taboo! But for ur own purposes...who gives a fuck right!!!

i did this method and made alot of seeds...then i grew those out and they were fine so i guess i was just lucky...i said fuck it as well and it worked :D

Well, I'm no expert breeder. I just dabble amongst my own genetics, working for desirable traits through cross/back/in breeding. Just make sure you keep breeding at least one solid set of genes back into the pool. Work for your traits slowly. You may pop 300 seeds and only find one that carries the dominant trait you desire.

Just my thoughts. Have fun breeding. The worst that can happen is you wind up with bud haha.

Its a tremendous amount of work to stabelize genetics. If you are breeding for your own purposes then its fine. A nanner here and there isnt going to kill you. Allot of people bitch about the prices some of these breeders charge for their genetics but if they just had a clue as to whats involved to create a seed thats ready to release to the world......... Some strains are worked on for years before its ready to be released.

I love Breeding!!!!!!

oh yea..the work is hard and im still on the learning curve as all ways but this is just a quick fix to not having to buy alot of seeds online

this is my new fav hobby dont get me wrong growing and smoking is great but now i have a goal like anyone else and work on your own strain type's

creating F1hybrid seeds is as easy as crossing 2 stable strains and most seeds purchaced are F1 hybrids...i bitch about the price i pay for seeds because the genetics you pay for and what you get are never the same,,, its a phenio hunt with f1 seeds.. if breeders would take the time to stabilize the seeds and you got the genes you paid for it would be great...i hate that every pack of 10 i buy,, i have to plant them all and hope for 1 killer male and 1 female with some of the traits that wer in the write up and pictures with that strain.. then i have to spend months of my time and space back crossing just to get a uniform stable plant that i know will look and smell and produce a certain way...i can produce thousands of seeds on a single branch let alone an entire plant and crossing 2 stable strains and selling the F1 seeds and saying they should look,smell,taste, and produce like this is misleading,,you are actually paying for a phenio hunt to get those traits..now if a breeder took the time to stabilize those seeds so wen i buy a seed it will look smell taste, produce as they said well thats money well spent...unfortunatly very few strains we pay for are REALLT STABLE,UNIFORM GENETICS...

That's why I like IBL's like C99 was when released. C99 was a 3rd bx into the org. Princess. Mr. Soul said the Princess x P.88 version was the best and called it Cinderella 99. He took it one more bx to the P.97 version but the subsequent results were not as uniform as it's predecessor. NL#5 from BCSC is another one that usually looks the same and meets its descriptors. Inbred for like 25 years. But only by playing the crossing game and growing out the results looking for that "one" mom or pop do we get the stand out of genetics. Like Blue Dream. Sure I can make BD easy enough. Haze x Blueberry seems simple enough. But will it be the same... no way. The chase for phenos that shine is a long and drawn out process and that's what makes those rarities so valuable. The cubing or stabilizing process takes time and the selection process for dominant genes and avoid if at all possible the recessive ones is almost a nightmare. But some have time, space and $ to do so. Those of us that don't buy what we presume to be great genetics. We always hope the genetics are great. Not just another cross of a cross with a description that make our mouths water. Chance crosses sometimes turn out fantastic. A cross I did of C99 x SB came out really loud. And what beans I shared were praised by the growers when they picked the right girl. Not something to just keep crossing with others cuz the SB had a recessive trait to throw nanners late because of the White Widow in it. But as a F gen whatever it was a nice way to find a good mom to propagate.

I payed like $13 for one seed of 24 k (kosher) and after i germinate and get a decent size how can i make more fem seeds from this plant after i clone?

When you flip it to flower and you start seeing calyxes, paint some colloidal silver on it. Best to do 2-4 to increase your odds. Do that every day for about 2 weeks. It'll grow balls instead.

Collect your pollen sacs and paint the pollen on the buds you want to pollinate. You could just let them pop on their own. You'll have a LOT of seeds though.

Agreed...although I didnt state it in my post,I was making reference to exactly that...stable genitics. Unfortunately you are correct in saying that " Breeders " are a dime a dozen these days and allot of what is being sold are in fact just that....simple F1 crosses and even poly hybreeds. Dam results are all over the place....anything but stable!

Serious breeding requires much more then what the average grower can provide. Space, time, money and dedication etc.... You would have to be able to run hundreds of plants if not thousands to find that super plant that meets your requirements to turn into a mother and thats just the begining....isolating traits is a shit ton of work!!

Having said that...people have been making thier own F1 crosses since Forever...nothing wrong with that. Seeds are expensive and one can achieve relative good results using two good stable parents.

C.Rex... colloidal silver comes in many forms and concentrations. What PPM are you suggesting to use? 10ppm? 22ppm? Or industrial strength used for silver plating other metals?

The thread has gone from me asking if a fem'd strain can be used to make reg beans with a reg daddy. Now it's about making fem'd beans. Oh well. Such are forum threads....
