I haven't been on a vacation in about eight years and I have some money and time on my hands for the first time in recent memory. I have had a lot going on the last few months and think I need to get away for a week or so to clear my head. Any ideas on some good vacation spots in the middle of winter?

we get conditions close to that march/april. sometimes the air will warm up pretty good but I'm no fan of icy water no matter the suit.

I have family in the Duluth area. I have never met them though.

Mexico sounds interesting. I have never been there. But like I said earlier, my Spanish is terrible. I can read it just fine, but I can't keep up when people are speaking it.

i was shopping for low cost warm location vacays a few weeks ago. Barbados is a good deal right now. Super warm, it's the rare Caribbean island with waves, english speaking and not expensive on rentals or grub.

Mexico cant be beat for the deals and the grub and .........the gunfighting

Tri? My only problem is I will be traveling by myself. I don't want to go somewhere and not be able to speak to anyone.

amsterdam is cheap and not crowded this time of year. weather will be kinda crappy. hot dutch chicks, coffeehouses, red light district.
everybody speaks english. easy to walk the whole city center.
my favorite city in the world. been there tons of times. both solo and with others

I did 4 days in Hawaii with myself an my girlfriend for under 2500. We stayed busy the whole time. Was lots of fun.

Lake of the woods? The high temp this Saturday is -7 deg F.. The walleye fishing has been good but a warm beach sounds alot Better to me(i live in this state)
