guy outta Oregon collected seed in the Durban area SA & has produced a really good sativa 100% durban poison land race I'll find his card said he'd send MMJ seed he's gotta book as well has Malawa crosses he's doing
Just got 12 CXB3590 35000K dropped in my hands ThanX Cutter !
How does The Durban grow? I saw some seeds that say 8-9 weeks, but sounds fast for a landrace sativa.
JTR is a Killer smoke I really like LSD thou
last winters mars grow was that LSD got 3 phenos outta 4 all were great still in jars
my dispensary guy was trading his top shelf for some buds of my LSD turned a nice blonde color & sweet smell
The LSD is better hat the JTR?
Maybe ill google it.
I never really looked into that strain, because of the name.
I think if we want marijuana to be taken seriously as more than recreational or worse, we need to stop with the ridiculous names, but thats a rant for a different day

Wow I'm so jealous dude... that's a lot of cash. I'm dreading buying my 12. 4 3000 4 3500 4 5000
From my reading the 3000K has no advantage over the 3500K as it is just muted in the blues and less output as a result, but not more reds.
I didnt test this, but this is something I read on RIU

Really? So you think the 3500 are the only way to go? I could do just 35 & 5k 2 of each on each fixture.

I am not the master with cobs, but I think most others will agree with me with the testing that has been done lately. The most common color for flowering seems to be the 3500K, and people are even flowering with 4000K with similar results, the 5000K has a higher bin though and that an benefit vegging most likely.
Dont base your decision solely on my opinion as others will no doubt chime in

You can have a little blue while you flower ;) I have a go green with 4 cxa3070 3000k too so it'd be a perect ratio. 8-3500 4-3000 & 4-5000. But prolly only use my flour hoods, and the 5000 and gogreen for veg. Then add the 8 3500s for flower

That sounds good to me.
I bought 6 CXA3070s and have those in 3000K, but since then I regret buying them, not that they arent good, but just not as efficient as the CXB3590s
I have bought the rest of my cobs in the 3500K flavor.
I also bought some retro lights(http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Free-shipping-LED-Retrofit-Kit-street-lighting-120w-Cree-smd-chip-56led-pcs-100lm-w-AC100/119409_32510388645.html) in 5000K for a screaming deal that I ue for veg dimmed all the way down for increased efficiency.

Dude those lights are freaking awesome! OMG! That's what I plan on doin with my fluorescent hoods. Switch out 6/8 on each one with GE new 100w BrightStiks from sams club. They're only 5000K for now bit take off the plastic diffuser and it looks similar to what you have.

$874 doesn't seem like a screaming deal. Haha. What were they per fixture cost to you?
$40
Seller didnt know what he had, I bought 3 of them.
The driver is worth more than I paid for the whole thing, and they use Cree diodes and mean well drivers
I have this one turned down to minimumKIMG0275.jpg

I'll be running 200-300w's of extra LEDs with those bright sticks. Because I'd want to actually use them for flowering too until I build my cob lights. So the 60w ones(11.5) come in 3500k so I'd do 4 of those 2 of the 100w 5000ks and 2 big fat spiral CFLs at 2700k for uv.

Cheap as hell too. $11 for 3 pack of 60w & $10 for 2 pack of 100w.only gonna be $50
It will be 74w of led...
11.5w for the 60w and 20w I guess for the 100w...
But how many lm/w are those?
T5 are 80/86 lm/w and you could find a 96w fixture for about the same price so just be sure to make the good choice!
I know there's cree bulb with about 90 lm/w...but not all white led are good and efficient enough!

@Airwalker16 they are 800ma drivers and I posted a pic of the driver board in post #179.

@GreenSanta I have two of these lights now so I'm thinking of replacing the drivers on one and going with 1050ma to see what it does to my yield. If my math is right I would go from 740 PPFD and 26.5 watts sq/ft to 1060 PPFD and 39.5 watts sq/ft. The light would go from 63% to 60% efficient if my math is right.
Which driver would accomplish this, capt? Love the fixture. I'm going to build one as well. Thanks for sharing the build. ☺

Were the heat sinks flatter in the wider size? I was thinking of building the same fixture at 24" x 5" ish. Do you think that would work? I've got a 2.5' x 2.5' x 4.5' space.

Thanks for your input. ☺
