a cop in favour of something he had to jail people for until recently sounds so wrong to me.
now that the Government said they'll legalize, the "former cops" are now OK with it? were they just mercenaries-did the job only for the $$-and didn't have feelings one way or the other? that seems so wrong to me.
these cops spread the word how bad MJ is in any and every form. Since becoming "the guy" to legalize, did he have a hallelujah moment??

They were paid to enforce laws...and cops being cops, found that an easy one to ass kiss for a promotion. If they outlawed popcorn, the same cop that was eating it with his kids the night before will bust you for fun. I don't put a whole lotta worry into an ex-cop handling the file. If legalization isn't done right, and chances are there will need to be changes and adjustments, the job isn't done. They haven't been able to stop homegrows under prohibition, how would they do it when legal?
It still feels wrong having cops involved with legal mj, but we have a lifetime of mistrust of the law to overcome just as they have been upholding pot laws their entire career.
When Dizzy's jackbooted death squads come to take our plants, we riot. Until then, I think we're going to be just fine.

simple...they'll just put you in jail. :) and say they were protecting kids even though you never sold or gave anything to anyone and that you only grew to save your life.
It's their word against yours.

They haven't got me for so much as a speeding ticket in my 53 years...unless I'm selling pounds to kids or something, I'm not worried about getting time...not gonna happen. I stand by my prediction of limited (6 plants) rec grows for personal. We'll see....bet ya a fatty? lol

I'll bet you that nothing will happen but what's been happening and for a long time to come.
With the odd thing like...tickets added to the pile to make it appear like they are doing what they said..restricting... and making sure kids don't get their hands on it.
Like booze and prescription drugs are so easily acquired.
Why would a kid bother to buy his pot if he knew he could grow it for free outside each summer?
More fines for kids then as well ? I wonder what age limit they will put on this?
Makes you wonder what they plan on doing to keep it out of the hands of kids.
I Just can't see that possible. Where there's a will there's a way.
The truth is...They don't have to do much....
Smoking isn't as big as it once was for kids under the age of 20...just isnt cool...
Seeing it first hand. Kids are into sports and being healthy...even the phyc drugs I hear are not popular anymore. Sure there's still a few but not like it was 30 years ago...
I still see more fines and lots of wasted tax money, paying our legal system to deal with this crap...
Business as usual..

What happened to Phelan

Funny how there was a big write up about one goof planning to lobby Bill Blair, but absolutely nothing said about the couple of hundred thousand voters that will be lobbying for a different outcome.
Why listen to the voters again? What do they have to offer? Not much. Those with power and money have lucrative jobs and other perks to offer.

They just don't get it do they?really wonder what legal would look like under their rules..the whole article makes my blood boil.
They get it just fine Flash. They simply want a totalitarian nightmare society for us to exist in where we are literal slaves. That's reality. That's always been reality amongst those who seek power by the way. They're always like that. Those who know best for everyone. Sometimes they even mean well, but they're still wrong and evil.

The very fact they are going to legalize is a direct result of listening to what people want. Do you think people will just accept giving LP's the exclusive right to grow a plant? We are in court now as a small group of patients regarding a still controlled substance, and we keep winning, how do you think the courts and government will handle it when there are millions of people arguing for the right to grow a LEGAL plant? Sure corporate greed will be a player, but it won't be a factor in an individual's rights to grow. Until we hear the word that home grows are to be banned, all this is just fear-mongering over the worst case scenario.

i wonder how long it took to legalize tobacco or booze. did they do the same as they are doing for MJ? are they going to use alcohol and cigs as "let's get it right this time" example?
maybe i don't know anything about it but to me, they could get on with at least the medical side!! JT could say "Let them grow for medical use"

I agree 200% about medical and I don't understand why that hasn't already been done. It's not going to look real good on his legalization promise to have 50,000 sick Canadians screaming rights violations all the way to the SCOC.The process for legalization, taxation and regulation of booze and tobacco was every bit as fucked up as what we are going through now. I had a real good discussion with my 90 year old father-in-law about that over Christmas.
