How old are those plants, Shiny? These pics are from yesterday, and today. What on earth would cause such a rapid die-off of leaves? And should I cut the dead fan leaves off? They are blocking off light to dozens of tiny but really green and healthy young leaves around the stem. And the top set is all but completely dead anyway.
6 weeks approx. How old are those plants, Shiny?
Only a matter of time now...so tell me,when you transplanted did you clean off all the toxic soil before replanting? And if so how did you go about that? I think the answers to these question will lead to your problemOk to date, no plant I have germinated has yet died , and the one is doing great with 6 tips growing after the FIM. So you don't have to be such an ass
Does your thermometer have a max recorded temperature? 75-80 is pretty ideal. My tent got 97 degrees one day when the weather in my area decided to be extremely bipolar and my heater did not to kick off. I didn't really have any dead leavesI really think my sleath curtain just caused too much heat to build up in there. The ambient temp is set to 75. It's in a closet, behind a curtain, with 7 cfl bulbs running in an enclosed space with no circulation, It probably just built up to much heat. I'm just going to leave the curtain up and door open till I can get some better ventilation, and see if that helps at all.
Unfortunately I don't have a permanent thermometer on her yet. I ordered a few $2.00 LCD + probe hygrometers and thermometers on ebay, just waiting on them to arrive. Even if its not the problem, it will be one less thing to worry about.Does your thermometer have a max recorded temperature? 75-80 is pretty ideal. Yeah I'd definitely take those off. Just let em veg a while. Originally I grew in some generic potting soil and didn't feed until a month from seed. At that point I did 1/4 strength of the recommended from the bottle. Even at that I got a bit of nute burn on the tips. I don't know if this is your first soil grow or not, but less is normally more. It's super easy to over love your plants, even if you don't think you are. I did.Unfortunately I don't have a permanent thermometer on her yet. I did prune the very top set of fan leaves. They were at least 90% dead and crispy. and blocking off a lot of light to lower developing leaves. We'll see if the problem gets worse or better.
Oh so you do think it is nute burn that extreme and that fast?Yeah I'd definitely take those off. Just let em veg a while. I was thinking perhaps the plants were so ph locked for so long, being put in the right soil probably was like opening the flood gates, perhaps the mix being hot as it is coupled with the abrupt correction in ph just really jacked it with nutes?
Theoretically it could help get oxygen to the roots. Hydro growers do it constantly and we had a little hydroponic vegetable garden at our school where we did the same thing. However on soil it sounds kind of frivolous. I guess it could 'only be helpful' as I don't really see extra gas in your water hurting plants. Why not do a side by side test one day?So I figured I'd throw another idea out there for you guys to make fun of. Perhaps someone will actually discuss it.
The air-stones in the soil probably didn't do much, but I was thinking, what If you aerated the water before giving it to the plants?
Like what if you just kept airpumps going into gallon jugs to be used for your watering and feeding. That would have to only be helpful it right?
Actually airating the water is an excellent idea and a lot of soil growers do this. I do it adds oxygen to the water ,also you should gas off the tap water, takes a couple days just sitting uncovered, also your tap water might have clorimate In it along with chlorine and fluoride. I less you life in a small town you more than likely have all three. So aor,gas 9ff ,both oc those will make your water usable. Now you need a ph pen and ph at 6.4 to 6 5 for HHF soul ,I 7se it myself ,and you burned these with the mag you were told not to use also.I would start all over again my friend you have stressed those two to the point that even 8f they come back ,which they might ,the will never produce much and what they do will be low power fella. Also HF soil is fine up in till about the end of vegging or so say 3 -4 weeks, then half strength fox farms bloom, swith to tiger bloom again at 1-2 strength for the flowering stage along with a teaspoon of unsulphered molasses per gal every other feeding, this helps the roots to feed and helps to increase terpins, oil production etc more bigger better trichromes lolActually airating the water is an excellent idea and a lot of soil growers do this. Idk man, they were burned and stunted, but they both seem to be doing fine now. They are getting bigger. I'll post more pics soon. I'm using ocean forest, not happy frog. I don't really plan on having to add nutes till flowering.Actually airating the water is an excellent idea and a lot of soil growers do this.
