Vaporizers and bongs - help and suggestions please

Hey. Just wondering if anyone recommends using a vaporizer? Being a frequent bong smoker i'm not sure a vaporizer will give me the heavy high that i'm looking for/used to getting from the bong. I would be buying a portable vaporizer and after some research i have decided either a 'pax ploom' or a 'volcano mighty' vaporizer would be a good choice. Both are not cheap options and id like to be sure before i buy. After smoking bongs for a long time is going from a bong to a vaporizer a good idea? Will i enjoy the high it gives me? And has anyone had any experience with the vaporizers i mentioned? Thanks, any help or suggestions appreciated.. :peace:

Yeah I'd also like some input on this. i owned a vapor genie a few years ago. I remember it made my weed taste sooooo much better. I mean whenever I went back to smoking bowls I remember the first bowl tasting like shit. I mean horrible compared to vaping. But smoking it made me so much higher. The high from a vaporizer was kinda mildish, but at the same time kinda ended up smoking less so kind of a good trade off. Check out vaporgenie.com. I just looked on there and they have a bunch of new shit. The Volta vaporizer looks awesome. The bronze sherlock looks pretty sweet too. I think imma get a Volta vaporizer. I recommend trying out one of their cheaper models like the hand carved vaporizers before going and spending so much on a volcano when our not sure if you're gonna like vaporizing or not. I understand if you're skeptical about the vapor genie's simplicity but I recommend it. They really are quality vaporizers. And small enough to carry around. When I took a greyhound from New York to North Carolina I vaped in the bathroom and blew it out of this tiny tiny hole that was in the window. It's really great for stealth. No one suspected a thing......I think I was pretty high soo. They might've known. Isn't it funny how stoners always think people cant tell that they're high?

I use the Mighty by S&B. Great portable/home unit. The Pax doesn't pack enough of a punch to be my daily driver, although it's a decent portable.

Whether or not you will enjoy the effects of vaping over smoking is subjective. It took me about a week of vaping before I adjusted to it.

I suggest you try several portable/desktop units before you buy, and decide whether you want a powerful unit or a discrete one.

Ooohhh that pax ploom is slick. Gross how they have tobacco in it tho. Ewwwww. Just kicked that habit. Though I do wonder how vaping tobacco would taste.

Honestly i don't think there is a huge difference in how high a vaporizer will get you brand wise. I mean you can only get so much off the weed before you end up combusting it. But maybe I'm wrong.....

Respectfully, you are wrong. Convection vaporizers will never combust cannabis because they won't heat up to a temperature sufficient for combustion to occur. Conduction vaporizers might, though.

There are also significant differences between the performance levels of most portable and desktop vapes.

Google the differences between convection and conduction vaporizers, and also the differences between portable and desktop, using glass/water vs dry, etc..

i've got a Pax (1.0) it's ok, not great, just ok. I've thought about the Mighty or Crafty. Vape takes a little getting used too. I smoked joints for 40 years.

edit:but the pax is kinda discrete so that's what i like the most about it

I was in a similar situation. Vaping certainly took some getting used to.

The Mighty is a great device. They've released water adapters and tools for it to, so it's pretty versatile. Quick heat-up time, easy to clean, battery lasts at least half a dozen bowls, you can step-up through the temps as you're vaping (progressing from low to higher temps in order to release different cannabinoids).

Solid machine.

I've never had a vaporizer work well for me, and I've tried several of the supposed best.

Bongs and pipes work for me. And edibles.

Lotsa good bongs out there. Most people rate Roor very high, but they are expensive. I have a small Roor given to me used by a former bf. I love it.

Is a vape hit smooth vs a pipe hit?
Sounds like a dumb question but
I have never vaped straight weed.
I assume not burning the green part
Would be easier on the throat.

Vape hits are def smoother than a pipe hit for me, because the smoke travels further and cools a bit more in the bong. But the pipe gets me a bit higher it seems.

I have never seen a high end one put to use and the cheap ones look like a pain in the ass and no one ever gets the hit right.
Then again I hang out with mostly r-tards
Those atmos are dope, but they definitely burn the buds. But they are badass for dabs.. Even the flower piece works great.

I like powerful vapes. I use the VaporBros. Desktop unit. I've tried a few hand held vapes and that crap don't work.

The little vapes might be for you if you don't want your mom to know you smoke in your room...or your kids to know you smoke in your room.
