Asked who would have a better shot against Trump, 44 percent said Clinton would, while only 16 percent said the Vermont senator would have more of a chance. Meanwhile, 35 percent said they would have about an equal opportunity.

Um..hmmm:roll:

Opinion poll? Little different who you "think" will win v. actual numbers.

Of course the Republicans want Sanders. It would provide them the only opportunity they have to get to the WH, because no matter what all the hype is about Sanders grandiose plans are, they are never going to fly in this country, because the GOP will never allow them to get off the ground. Even Obama's plans, that were much less radical than Sanders ones, were almost always DOA, due to the composition of the Congress.
So the Republicans want Sanders as the opponent, and the Democrats want Trump. That's no surprise to me, but if the Republicans get their wish, that will seriously jeopardize a Democrat following Obama, to continue what he has been trying to do for the last 8 years. I really do like Sanders, but I see him as a spoiler that will set back Democratic advances in this country, because this country is not yet ready for his progressive vision. There is no way in hell that Sanders will be President of the United States in 2016, and the Republicans know that. So, if any Democrats are scared of Trump winning the WH, which in reality is not that much of a stretch considering whom the electorate has put in office before, they should think really, really hard about the consequences of their vote for the better "man".
I know all I want is another Democrat in office, I don't care which one really, because in the big picture keeping the GOP out of the WH is all that really matters to me.

I disagree..there are many opinions as to why republicans would back Bernie and I'm not discounting yours..perhaps in times gone by..but you have TWO very popular antiestablishment candidates for the first time ever..one of which is pristine record..no scandals for distraction to legislate and 40 years of DOCUMENTED bipartisanship..the PEOPLE are SPEAKING now..this is virgin territory..all bets off..even the writer of the article said same..I gave my opinion from my viewpoint and so far every prediction I've made on this race has come to fruition..can you say the same?

PS..calling millions and millions of grass roots donors 'hype' is a slap in the face to us, Jim.

PPS..Sanders plan grandiose and radical? Are you forgetting what it was like 40+ years ago? A more level playing field..Bernies turning the clock back and getting rid of the LAST 40 years of loopholes, income inequality etc. and bringing back the American Dream where everyone has a chance not just some. EVERYONE.

The republicans have made one bad move after the next the last 16 years..thinking Bernie is beatable by any of their turds is just another dumb idea by those dopes.

Oh look another thread on the Messiah Bernie.

Yet, NOBODY has answered how Bernie the Bomber can be the "peace candidate" while also voting to bomb Kosovo and voting multiple times to fully fund the Military Industrial complex and world domination.

He's going to get those "bad banks" too....right after he extends the debt limit and borrows more from "big banks".

Silly people....very silly. Believing in two opposing things at the same time can do that.

Further, one thing that's always bothered me is the cap on FICA..there are plenty of NEW areas of opportunity..taxation of derivatives from spec which amounts to BILLIONS..these ideas are not radical..what's radical is 29M people are still walking around with no health insurance the only industrialized nation in the world to not have health. It's a disgrace.

Dude..I've answered this twice..

Bernie is the best option by far, he's not perfect but he's the best..there is no close second.

Fear not..minorities are always the last group..these are the people that work 2 and 3 jobs to stay afloat..

Additionally, the black community went from 2-3% November 2015 to 23% January 2016 for Bernie.

I predict more tears for Democrats.

Hillary will be indicted. Bernie is a kook, a very nice kook, but a kook none the less. Maybe Biden, the smiler, will be pressed into service at the last minute?

The Republicans have taken the majority of the states: governors, legislators. The Republicans control the house house and senate, and you Democrats on RIU think the Dems are "winning". It's hilarious.

Trump will probably be the next president of the US, and that will be because the Democrats have promoted a crook and kook as their choice to run America.

So, his lies are more palatable than the other douche bags ?

No, the best option is one most people are trained to never consider and misunderstand and is forcibly prevented from occurring. There is no close second to being allowed to run your own life and you know it.

Donald can still run independently Having the lead over everyone D or R from the get go is a huge advantage.

Black community? Are you insinuating that black people all think in lock step ? Reinforcing that kind of thinking is what Politicians like to do isn't it?

Hey!! I KNOW....maybe Bernie could hum some Motown tunes and that would get him some votes?
