T-5 Lights are not dark after turned off !!!

Dam, I accidentally checked my grow space that I have turned off my Tower fans that emit light....and discovered
that my extra T-5 light systems which been turned off hours ago (5 hours)..are glowing in dark and producing quite a lots of light even they are not turned on...after I took the plugs off they went dark...F*****!!!!!!
And here I have been trying to do everything spot on...how the hell can they make grow lights like this,,,,when it should be dark it should be dark...and no dam light....be aware boys and girls...Any fluorescent light in the grow room even not used might be glowing if it is plugged in....dam, dam, and dam !!!

sounds like you got a issue with the light because they don't normally ever do that, when you turn it off it should kill all power to it not 90% of the power 100% I would send that shit back asap as I've never had a t5 do that on me, but why are you turning it off to begin with? you can veg for 24 hous a day, if your flowering then you shouldn't be using a t5

Whell it is not 10 % left with light...it is much less ,kind of a halo in the gas...but you don't want ANY light on the dark period.
So just for fun if You are using T-5 lights in anyway....do a test...sometimes after the lights have turned off ..go in the totally dark space
and let your eyes get used to the darkness and take a look at your T-5's do you see a glow or not....
I am flowering and as an extra I am using T-5's beside Hps lights to provide extra lumens and a mixture of type of lumens , I do have the flowering bulbs in them . they would actually be fine with just few 6500K also..in flowering to give that combination...

Lights sound faulty,

but yeah they do 'glow' for a few minutes once turned off

but once off they are off, dead, not going

unless you have a faulty circuit, then electricity will 'leak'

electricity does track thru that phosphorous

repair or replace is an idea

I'd be looking for a faulty earth..?

Whell just more stuff to add to my check list when lights go off...plugs out,,,,and then in the morning plugs back in,,,, at least keeps me busy..

that more than likely means you have a short somewhere... they are glowing, right? check the ground wire...

or possibly the particles arent settling all the way.... can be a few reason. starting from the plug end , follow it and check all wiring. Good luck.

I belive the light is fine, the after glow shouldn't stay on just that long,,,I'we seen it before and usually its been disappearing pretty soon, now it was hours later there still,,,and the funny thing was that there was a timer in the wall and from that a extension cord and there it was plugged in, so no power could be in that socket anymore it was turned off at the wall 3 meters away...but anyway when I took the cord off from the other end at the actual light frame it went dark...so that made me whistle The Twilight Zone melody ..
