Questions about early flowering.

Hello I have been growing my own medicine for years and just recently discovered the online forums with the large amount of knowledge. I always do pretty good on yield I just know there is always room for improvement.

My question about early flowering is I have always started flowering nutes the first watering after 12/12. Also I have always started the 8 week countdown from there also.

Now I read that many wait a week or two to change nutes and don't start counting days till the first signs of flowering is seen.

My question is that i always see pistols during veg (usually a week or two before flowering) is this considered first signs of flowering?

Thanks

p.s. I've never gone more than 8 weeks and at 8 weeks the trichs seem about 50%-75% amber.

i think most weed is ready around 8 weeks to begin with, but different strains very for the best high, or different high i believe.
ofcourse when you switch to flower you start using flower nutes right away, you can do a flush before the flip if youd like to (1-2 waterings just phd water)

once you flip to 12\12 .. flowering begins.

Is it good to continue veging nutes for a week or two? If so do I start my flowering additives right away mixed in also? Or just the veg nutes

When u switch to flowering you use flowering nutes, not veg nutes

I use sensi grow a and b for veg
When I switch to 12/12 I use
Sensi bloom a and b, along with a couple other things like big bud.bud candy and b52

The plant will flower completely through on veg nutes. The nute needs do change so it is good to change over within a week, but veg nutes will work with diminished return and deficiencies will likely manifest.

As long as the plant is mature, once you flip that is what the seed companies refer to flowering starts.

Not sure why people say otherwise as this is the info I was given years ago by a number of seed companies.

i always continue to use veg nutes for a good two weeks or so since that is the phase in the plants growth that it grows the most green growth, the stretch phase.., and slowly switch over to flowering nutes once i notice the stretch slowing down..
as far as flowering, i count the day i switch to 12 / 12, but i also never switch to flowering before my plants are showing signs of sexual maturity, ie, alternating nodes and or preflowers.. if your plants aren't sexually mature, it's kind of silly imo to start to count flowering since the plants are still going to have to grow and reach sexual maturity before they start to flower.. for example, if you only veg a plant for 2 weeks from seed, and flip to 12 / 12, you can't really expect the plant to be ready in 8 weeks since it's no where near ready to start flowering..
i never really go by breeders time tables for when a plant is done, just a lose base, nothing more.. the plants will be ready when they're ready, not like they're looking at the pack they came in and saying to themselves, oh, it's week 8, our breeder said we should be done by now, hurry up amber trics, recede pistols, swell calyxes..

The first week of 12/12 isn't actually flowering and shouldn't be counted towards the 8 week flowering period.

This is why so many people chop too early because they think they're on week 8 when it's really week 7.

Flowering starts when you see pistils forming, not when you start 12/12
