That's code around here, to be able to have a bedroom in the basement it needs to have a 4' square egress window. At least one in a basement, even with no bedrooms. They come in handy more than you think.

Lots of places you can't even really have a basement, they're nice.
Might sound funny but, I've never seen a basement that wasnt atleast half burried undergrown lol.

My house technically has a basement which was finished into a family room.

It had potential to be a bedroom but lacked a closet to be legally a room.
A second bathroom could have been installed if they used this above average sized room, maybe some of the adjacent garage too.

Otherwise this room is my bedroom, the druggies command center. I like the basement style that has walls half below ground and the top half is groundlevel and above. Stays cool during summer, and allows plenty of view/privacy

I have a escape route. Yeah I am building my bedroom in the basement too. Ours is the same size as the house.20160124_112956.jpg

Keep an eye on that kid. I mean. He ain't the brightest bulb in the socket. But he sure knows how to grow. Plus he can be an emotional lil bitch at times. Take him under your wing and teach him all about being a grumpy old fart.

Peace and love bro!

That's a garden level, which enjoys most of the advantages. Gotta love 'em!

IPA's are so trendy nowadays.
Don't get me wrong I'll drink them sometime, I like to mix it up. Enjoy and try new stuff,
I quit whiskey/bourbon last year. Got beginning stages of an ulcer after relapsing and doing a bunch of blow and pounding Jim Beam to level me out. Trying to keep it mellow at almost 48. Been abusing my body hardcore since the very early 80's. I'm grateful and lucky I'm semi decent in shape and healty.
