what are good beers that arent hoppy, or ales? there are "Ok" ales out there in my limited experience but are generally more estery- feminine. floral, fruity etc.

just not my style...figured id ask, seem to know more about beers than me.
i also generally have liked darker beers ive had

I don't like citrusy beers either, or citrusy meat like lemon chicken, but there are a handful of beers I like with a fruity hint to them....Stella is the best tho just stick with that and you'll be ah-ight G

SN beers are cheap near me. I'm only 20-25 min from the brewery/resaurant

I lived in Chico for 2 years.
That breweries fish and chips are KILLER.

I'd say my #1 go-to these days is "mirror pond pale ale" by deschutes. When that's not available I fall back on the SN pale ales.... definite creature of habit (except with weed strains. If I don't have 10+ available strains to smoke I'm not a happy camper)

Sounds like maybe you're a port or stout guy. I like those OK but can't drink 6 of them. Too thick. TBH I've never gotten floral or fruity from an ale? If you drink a newcastle you get floral? That's a bit odd.

Also, FWIW I personally think fruity mixed drinks are much more fem than beer could ever be.

Everybody knows white wine spritzers are the toughest shit you can drink.

Yeah man. You'd probably like some British ales. They typically have low hops but also more dry "clean" yeasts. Or just look for lagers generally. Samuel Smith makes a nice lager.
