Not for everyone...different strokes 4 different folks!!
what do you mean? if youre talking about weed then theres obviously an ideal humidity. i understand if its just another selection for people looking for longer term storage though

Some people like their buds a little drier and depending on temperature the RH humidity is different. 62% RH in a place that is 60 deg. F. doesn't have the same amount of water in the air as place that is a 100deg. F. and can be cutting it really close if you live in a warm humid climate like myself (Hawaii). I'd prefer the 56% packs I think. I already stick Damp Rid cups in my stash coolers with a bunch of 62% packs and it's perfect using both. I'd say anywhere between 55%-62% RH is ideal for most anyone under normal storage conditions, it just depends if you want your buds a little drier or a little more spongy.

i see what you're saying but doesnt the ambient temp have little to no affect on the humidity inside s glass air tight jar?

If the packs truly keep the humidity relative to the temperature than the packs, being that they work 2 ways, would actually release more moisture as temperatures increase and absorb more moisture at lower temperatures. But within an ideal range of storage temperatures and with the amount of available space in a jar I'd guess the changes in air moisture would be minimal so it's more about how you like your buds overall. If you had less than ideal storage temperatures that got too warm than I would definitely suggest the 56% packs. It would help decrease the chance of mold. I dry and cure my buds in a room that stays 65-70 deg so either pack would be fine for me I think, but I like to keep the air moisture lower just because it works better in my environment.

Sweet. I usually use one 62 small pack per 2oz instead of 1oz as recommended because they leave the buds a bit wet, and I'm in CO where it's 20 percent in the winter. Wouldn't mind having a few of these to check out though.

Got some samples and slow in bringing 80% down to 60%.

Still rotating out of jar to get down.

Different areas have different humidity levels. This affects them.....

The 62% pack is the one that's used for curing, the other one is too dry to properly cure.

Boveda's patented 2-way humidity control is the only technology that monitors ambient humidity and adds or removes moisture to deliver a precise relative humidity, resulting in the ideal moisture content for your goods. - See more at: http://www.bovedainc.com/#sthash.Ega1NyAh.dpuf

Boveda packs 56% coming February 2016!!!!
The weird thing about Bovedas is that they tell you that you should replace them when they dry out. Well, if they also absorb moisture then why wouldn't you be able to simply put them in a sealed container with, say, a wet sponge and rehydrate them? I think they're scheming for resales. And when will somebody open one up and analyze the contents so we'll know what the salt is that they use and can just make our own?

Bud won't cure in under 60% rh. Boveda 62%'s are perfect though, definitely a huge difference in potency on buds that have been in a jar with a boveda pack. Once the smell diminishes from your buds then they're too dry.

How do you use these? After you get done drying do you just put a pack in your curing jar??

I just finished drying. My RH in the jar is 66% . can I just throw a 62% bovada pack in right after hang drying?

Luv these things! Dry till crispy or branch break them throw one in jar and seal for a day to let humidity settle. Open to check buds, close them done! Best buds ever

if your weed is at 80% you need to dry it more! It should not go over 65% at the time you put it in the jar. if it is, take it out and let it dry another 12-24 hours! 80% RH weed in a jar will rot! and Boveda's are to maintain an even RH, not lower the RH of damp weed.

Got some samples and slow in bringing 80% down to 60%.

Still rotating out of jar to get down.

And i use the 59% as 62% makes the weed burn too slow, joints go out, etc. that 3% makes a difference! i'll definitely try the 56%!
