Like I said before it is only 0.5/0.6gpw...not much...you could almost triple that amount with good cob...same everything but cob and bam more than twice the weight...is it grower skills...NO IT IS COB!

Yes littlejacob is right.The only way I WOULD ever consider using led would be COB i even have a list to build a 400 watt one as a project but as far as forking out those scalper prices I'm far from considering that. 1-1.5 gpw when I last tried my hand at it on a flood table with a 250 watt wing reflector since then my equipment has been impounded and I'm on the rebound in a new state.

I ran 4 300w (180 actual) in my area. I had to repair one every other cycle. Center LED's fail. I switched to 200 watt purple cobs for about a month. The 300's were better. I switched to 1 reflector 300 to try with the other 3 standard mars. Then through searching I ended up here a few years ago. The 4 300's worked OK. I got 12 zips. I run 8 vero 29's at ~ 700w and got 1000g plus. I have just switched to 16 3590's at ~ 650w now. Passive cooled. It's 78 deg 8" below the cobs.

When you take them apart you should be able to tell why its where the gap is in the heat sinks,they are getting too hot.

Actually the old 300 had no center heatsink. Hence the problem. One of many IMHO.

I thought that was funny as well. But I do see the point as the Apache at600 is comparable to a 1k hps and seems like they designed it to run at 600 watts. Then you find out it runs closer to 800 and it doesn't seem like that big of a gain IMO.

1000w is the old standard. 1200w gavita is the obstacle now, and apache has known that for a while, and it takes more than 600w to compete with a DE cranked up. Apache's drivers are capable of getting that unit up to ~800w of led dissipation. So they don't dial them down to ~650w anymore. Crank them up and still save 35% on lighting and cooling over gavita. As well as being UL and I believe working with the e-company in colorado for rebates. They are a commercial light, in every aspect.
You can order you light to whatever wattage...you need to ask. As you know for DIY...drivers are adjustable.
Mine were dialed to ~650w...

Not BML/Fluence. There stating they can replace a 1200 Gavita. In which has been proven. But yes I agree, most companies doing that are trash. A 300x3watt diode tuning at 2watts should not be called a 900watt grow light. It should be listed as 600 + fans. There are some ridiculous ones out there. So many claims, so I bought one as well as one w/o claims but full transparency. I now plan to put them up against each other just cuz I got caught up in claims early on while researching. Soon found out about the BS spooged & learned to trust companies more that are honest & don't hide info. So I just had too buy both for my first LED experience. I'm nuts maybe & wasted my money. But my mind wouldn't let it go.

I just pre ordered a pair of mini mo's because Heavenbright is on everybody's recommend list. Why do you say this?
they have a history of selling unsafe lights with poor craftsmanship. Its unknown if the newer mini-mo or mighty mo has any major flaws or not.
perhaps when you get them you can do a show and grow.

I just bought a 500watt Hydropnics Hut light for $700. My Amare SE-450 is coming in Tue. & I plan on running them both with the same set-up. Reason for the HH was I just had to see if the company could live up to its claims. Plugged it in tonight & it's bright. I thought it would be Burple but it's white mostly. These lights are inexpensive in comparison but we'll see. I can't suggest this company yet but I'm hoping they're worth the mid-range price I paid. 
My first LEDs. Good luck! Poeple here will point you in the right direction. I'm not recommending rather just sharing info on an affordable company that I hopes works out but it's all good if it doesn't. It's really an experiment for myself. Can't wait to get the Amare though. Seems like the COB lights is where it's at.
