outdoor pots..

I want to grow outdoors but planting in the soil is not an option as the river floods my area. I was thinking about smart pots but was told they dry out to fast (15 gal). I can get to plants 2 maybe 3 times a week to water. What would be the next best bet if smart pots are out of question? Would a smart pot of that size need to be watered more than 2 times a week? Growing in Indiana. Thanks!

if you expect temps to hit over 80 you will definitely need to water 3 - 4 times a week in 15 gallon smart pots. I would suggest growing in at least 15 to 20 gallon plastic pots and you could probably do twice a week if its not too hot. I watered my 25 gallon smart pots 8 gallons every other day when temps were over 90 last summer and I pulled 10-12 zips each. would of got more probably if not for reveg in june/july. but I'm in cali so keep in mind indiana could be more or less humid I do not know a lot plays a part in outdoor watering schedules

Yeah, in the summer gets pretty hot but the humidity is usually 80-100% humidity. I used 18 gallon plastic last year, just one plant, and it did ok. Just wanted to try something new but that's seeming to be the only way to go.

What ever size pot will kick down 2 pounds is the one you need to use.8)
I would like that but I need to be able to handle them and move them if the river comes up. My location is near a river that can flood from time to time and I'm thinking anything over 15 might need a fork lift!

Even 15s are a pain in the arse to move with a 4 month old plant in it
