I cant believe Michigan and Massachusetts are the only states where the Governor is exempt from releasing e mails and other Office documents under the Freedom of Information Act. I wonder if this includes the FBI and Department of Justice investigations? Somehow i dont think so. The truth will come out soon about what he knew and when he knew it. FBI doesnt play games. There has got to be something there for them to even begin an investigstion.
The power of the subpeona is different from Freedom of Information Act. From Wikpedia:
A subpoena /səˈpiːnə/ (also subpœna) is a writ issued by a government agency, most often a court, to compel testimony by a witness or production of evidence under a penalty for failure. There are two common types of subpoena:
subpoena ad testificandum orders a person to testify before the ordering authority or face punishment. The subpoena can also request the testimony to be given by phone or in person.
subpoena duces tecum orders a person or organization to bring physical evidence before the ordering authority or face punishment. This is often used for requests to mail copies of documents to the requesting party or directly to court.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552, is a federal freedom of information law that allows for the full or partial disclosure of previously unreleased information and documents controlled by the United States government. The Act defines agency records subject to disclosure, outlines mandatory disclosure procedures and grants nine exemptions to the statute.[1][2]
