Just moved

Hi guys,
I had posted in the WA section awhile back, but now that I'm in Oregon I figured I'd say high

My fiance and I grow together, he has been growing outdoors for a few years and will be my grower until I can have patients in the future. I have been growing indoor my years invested in the plant. We're combining skills and houses. Is very fun. Say hi anytime.
I have made a new journal of my growing, I lost all of my genetics in the move, so I'm starting over.
will add to my sig here in a bit, should anyone want to drop by

Pretty sure once you go outside you'll not go back to inside growing unless you need a quick taste of something (but I'm biased as that was very much my experience

)

I love growing inside and I have the ability to set it up the way I want now, I plan to grow all the time, we can only grow during the appropriate season outside. So luckily I will be doing both, not either or.

that was my cookie mix, I lost my plants in the move, so now I get to find new strains. should be interesting

I do both also. Partly because there are so many variables with an outdoor that having done only one (and losing most of it to the steep end of the learning curve), I'm not confident about finishing outdoor plants. And partly because at this point I've invested so much money in my indoor set up, it'd break my heart to leave the space(s) dark! LOL I've made so many changes to my indoor space that I'm constantly learning, but I think I finally have it dialed in. I'll know in about 9-13 weeks...

It just makes sense to me, since part of the year I can't grow outside and I enjoy my indoor setup, we plan to run strains inside to see what we think. If they pass that test
then the following season we will run the plant outside. Thanks for replying everyone! I'm really glad to be in Oregon I like it here.

Yeah, you guys are lucky having other patients / ability to grow more (though depending on where you live in the state, be careful as the new rules capped growers at a set number if memory serves but since it didn't apply to me I didn't encode it) I keep forgetting different people grow different stuff

Prior to recreational's additional 4 plants due to my required growing season length (I need sativas I've discovered, with the longer flowering time the better), I would have had to seriously hustle to pull off even a single round during the down (no 12 inch plants or buds) season of mid Nov -> maybe mid March. (because I live in one of the areas of the state thats extremely anti cannabis I'm not bending a single rule, so for me it's really an either-or situation if I'm maxing my outdoor number) On the bright side, not growing for other people means I don't have to keep records so it evens out a bit.

And IA: what sort of light did you use to take that colorful combination? sunlight or studio lights? Amazing colors! Welcome to oregon, you'll fit right in here (and there's no sales tax!)

yes I strain hunt all winter, then grow in summer

Everything in my sig I grew, that's the point, my girls.

and there are a few, the top left is Querkle, Top right is a GDP mix and the one below it is Blackberry kush. they are all in my past grow journals.

The cookie mix in the jar? I've grown that in HPS and LED and she changes to a lavender and green in both about half way through flower, but I lost her when I moved, all
my plants froze sadly on the trip here. so I'm starting over with new genetics.

Honestly I didn't see that it was your "girls" the hair was on till this time I looked.

Do you know the breeder of the blackberry kush strain. Im looking for a nice purple one like that. Ill see if i can find your journal on it, mayne its in there. Great color.

You are the second person on here (that I've seen) who has mentioned that they test strains indoors in the winter for the following summers grow. Now that I've done an outdoor, I can see why -- it's such a long process with such a huge potential yield, you really want to pick carefully. Plus, you get one shot per year (to state the obvious).

That said, Oregon's west side has an unpredictable fall, it can be very wet and/or cold. My outdoor this year will be primarily about mold/mildew resistant strains, and ones that finish early. My indoor are more about trying different strains and having lots of variety -- I doubt the two will have much overlap.

Yeah, I need to redo my sig, it's very old. I just haven't had time lately. but I am getting settled so I will soon.

I got the BBK as a clone, I would love to grow it again one day.

Once we have an established line up of plants, I will probably go that route also and grow so we have variety, but we are still deciding what we like the best.
And my fiance likes to try a new strain every year and keep one old one that's proven it'self.

I'm new to outdoor all together so this will be an experience I'm looking forward to.
