Advanced Nutrients- the pros, the cons, or your personal opinion.

Hello all. I have been using advanced nutrients for years. I've always been a fan. I believe they have their pros and cons. I believe the pros far outweigh the cons though.

I use promix hp as a media. What is everyone using as a watering schedule for the advanced nutrients? I hear some say full strength every watering, others say full strength every other watering, some say half strength every watering and others say half strength every other watering. which is correct?

I usually do half strength every watering and have had good results but I always wonder if I'm screwing up and should be running full strength, or if I'm overloading with too much nutes and should lighten up. I'm never in the position to run trials or tests to see the difference. I've always just figured it's fine so far so I'll run with it.

Usually 3-4 weeks into flower I do get some of the lower fan leaves showing signs of yellowing, then from there till the end it gets worse which is normal I hear. Occasionally I'll get a few burnt tips but never gets worse than the tips and is few and far between. I know all plants are different and react differently to different nutes and conditions. Just curious and want to hear what others do.

Thanks.

I like AN

their flora range is cool the 3 part and the nova range with the single part

but can normally find better food cheaper just have to see what you can get where you are

elixir garden supplies, I like a lot of their products, they aim more at bigger no frills people but once you know what your looking for you can find a lot of useful products and 10L bottles or 30kg of powder is cheap like £20 to £50 and more concentrated than what most of the companies with fancy packaging put out

I find Canna is normally well overpriced but when people pay that kinda money they normally use the product correctly so it gets good results when used right

just hate paying £50+ for 1l of a "boost" product when 99% of the time its just seaweed extract, I can buy my own triacontanol

or even worse is the money I`ve seen people pay for pk13/14 man I wish I could just mix monopotassium phosphate with water and charge £20 to £50 per L for it

so many people pay out for stuff and neglect one very simple thing that everyone outside of hydro needs, wetting agent, funny some long time growers I know that never use it but when they do there shocked

Just that little bit of soap in your feed and it all soaks in better and nicer and the wetter helps the plant and kills the buds too

Nice foamy water only bitch is you can`t use wetter and bubblers together, lol

I'm not trying to stir the pot....no pun intended. But I'm just curious mainly to what strength is being used in what media or hydroponicly.

2/3 strength drain to waste every 2 days, Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil with some kelp meal and azomite added. works for me ;)

I use AN in Promix and I use full strength {about 1200ppm} every watering but I only water/feed once a week with 30% runoff.

Well the title says pros and cons so yup just waiting for the train that's about to crash and burn lol. The only nutrients that I use are locally mixed salt based and when I'm feeling rich AquaFlakes. What I've noticed with very little research is all of the canna specific nutes are fucking expensive. The aqua flakes seem to do a better job, seem being the key word because if anything it's slightly better but not enough to justify 400% more. Are AN that much more than the others? Botanicare is pretty damn pricey as well. Now that I'm starting to run multiple res's price has become a factor and very seriously looking at powders for the very few additives I run, like amino acids and microbes.
