As some of you might know, my last grow didn't go to plan. The 3 Feminized NL seeds never sprouted for some reason? I got them from SensiSeeds.

I made a lot of mistakes throughout this current grow so far - I guess you could call it my 2nd grow, however my first grow well.... they never really grew...

I'm growing 3 Feminized Royal AK from RoyalQueenSeeds now.

Germination:

For germination I placed the seeds into a tupperware container with toilet paper, placed the seeds onto the toilet paper and dampened it with some pH'd water. (Our Water has a pH of 7.9-8.0 - 0.2 ec) Down to 5.8pH. I placed this onto of our boiler, a nice 23c. 2 days later they popped open.

Planting Seeds:

I planted the seeds 5mm below the surface of the coco (Last time I planted the first set of seeds, I used the "First Knuckle Deep" method. Most likely what caused their downfall.)

2 days later on the 19th of January 2 sprouted,
the 3rd never sprouted and had to be replaced and it sprouted on the 22nd. (Germinated surprisingly quick).

I watered them every few days, once the pot either felt light or the top inch of the soil was dry.

Lighting: I used a 400w MH SuperVeg Bulb roughly 3ft away from the seedlings, I know it's counterproductive and a waste of energy..... I could have just used CFL's however it's all I have at the moment.

This will help kill boredom and provide a life of better qualiy once you control start to finish with a regular payoff.

First Feeding:

- I should state now, that ever since I first planted them the temperature was way off. It was too hot for them scorching at almost 90f. -

1st February I fed them all with nutes at an ec of 0.3 @ 1/4 strength A+B 2ml of each to 2l of water.... & 3ml of Liquid Seaweed Extract to 0.5l. Roughly 50ml of each.

I don't think the picture was nute burn, most likely the souring heat temperatures.

The hygrometer was showing a temperature of almost 90f (The humidity was also wrong). Rookie Mistake, and many others have done the say thing... It was reading my room temperature the entire time!!

2nd Feeding:

4th feb, I fed them with 4ml of each A+B to 2litres of water. @ 0.75 ec.

Later in the day, I realized the temperatures were completely wrong they were at almost 90*f the entire time throughout the first stages of life. Opened vents at the bottom of grow tent for passive airflow, adjusted lights to 3ft away, turned on inline extractor fan & ran the oscillated 29" tower fan offset from the seedlings

I left the hygrometer outside the tent, and left the probe inside. I thought where it said "IN" was the inside temp and "OUT" was some bogus. (easy mistake to make) But please don't judge me for it

Everything starts to look up:

6th of February I start the see potential after adjusting the temperatures, kept it at a steady 76-81f. Humidity fluctuates from 40 - 50 rH.

The 3rd seedling looks like it's ruderalis dominant, it's really short. Hasn't gained much height. (Not too sure) But it's really green compared to the other 2.

Hung up wet towels in the grow tent to keep the humidity high, along with water containers under the lights.

10th of February fed @ 0.75 ec 4ml of each A+B to 2litres of water.

EDIT: pics attached.

They look 10x better for just a few days. I'm pretty amazed how well they've picked up! Although humidity has always been an issue. I should probably invest in a humidifier...

I'm pretty sure they're on their 3rd set of leaves. 3rd seedling may be lagging behind a little. But In due time

11th of February

The little suckers... have drank all the water I gave them yesterday!! Soil is completely dry, was slightly moist this morning. Before, they would dry out every 2-3 days.

I watered with liquid seaweed extract 2ml to 0.5l until 15% runoff. Tested the pH at 6.1

12th of February - Transplant Time

Today's the day, I finally transplanted the seedlings into their final home. (5gal smart pots) I should have put them into 1gal and moved to 2.5gal and finally their last pot. However I didn't have any at the time, also I was getting worried because they were showing signs of being root-bound and slight wilting etc

I cut into a few of the roots while cutting the plastic pots away from the medium. However the damage done shouldn't increase their chance of transplant shock. Possibly cut into a maximum of 5 roots with the scissors.

edit: I completely forgot about watering them! Mixed 5ml of each A+B to 2litres of water. Tested the pH @ 5.4 with an ec of 0.8-9. Watered with about 100ml for each.

The new coco has a pH of about 0.4 so I'm trying to counter-act that by lowering it a little.
