Should APPLE be forced to unlock San Bernardino terrorist iphone

They will deploy any method available to them to spy on us. They would suggest that every home in america should be unlocked to police. If citizens are not doing anything wrong, why not barge in and have a peek, eh?

This is a human condition, not an american one. The purpose of society and civilization is to temper the awful human attributes and allow privacy and the freedom to pursue happiness in the Jeffersonian sense of the word.

Apple took some shit a while back regarding encryption. They've made their new encryption and self-destroying drives a big part of their being. I take that at face value because it's relatively easy to assess a systems firewalls. Difficult to overcome them. My point being that if Apple didn't step up with their new security, the hacker / jacker community could easily have a look and see they're lying. Instead, the security has been corroborated. The FBI can't get in without destroying the very data they are seeking. This should not be construed as a shortfall of the FBI

Thank god for Tim Cook

So Obama should appoint a libertarian leaning, constitution defending justice, am I right?
No, libertarians are just another political cult, that historically has never meant anything, and never will.
Obama will, and should appoint a person that he feels qualified, and seeing as he actually was elected by a MAJORITY of the American citizenry, he might end up nominating a left leaning Democrat.
Why not? I say let the Republicans continue to dance the same old dance, and cry we wont play with you again, Obama. Who gives a damn anymore, after listening to the same old shit for 8 years now. Well, the clock is winding down to November, and then the Rooster (Hen) is coming home to roost, and take a big fat shit on the Republicans heads, Because you know why, all the GOP has ever done for the last 16 fucking years is screw the American people, 1st by having Bush as a President, and secondly trying to sabotage the current President, admittedly, and performed with glee
I hope those measly dicked cunts do block the nomination, and wait for the coming election and see what the American people really want, because the way I see it, I wouldn't want to be a Republican candidate in November, for any office. So, me myself cant wait, but I will, to hear who the next appointee to the Supreme Court will be, because I KNOW the Republicans will shit in their pants/panties, because there ain't going to be a thing they can do to stop it. NICE

All I'm saying is Apple unlock a dead TERRORIST iPhone not give the Government a key, with lawyers from both sides look over contents of said phone.

I wonder if an attack against our country could've been prevented with information garnered from a dead terrorist phone. I wonder also if we were attacked again on a scale that made 9/11 look like a small bonfire would the same folks who defend freedom from scrutiny be feeling the same then as they do now....I wonder.

Well, Apple is saying there is no way to open one without developing a skeleton key... which then opens everything. The feds want that key. This is so much bigger than two idiots shooting up people.

Why does the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation require Apple to unlock an iPhone, why don't they just do it themselves? Their request implies they are incapable of doing it on their own. That's not a good sign.

dozens of millions of global citizen privacy and rights VS two dipshit shooters

You'd drop your pants that quickly? Freely compromise every phone using that OS so we can all see what happened with these two idiots. No nuclear weapons at risk, no nerve gas taking out the west coast. Just two dead terrorists who were mediocre shots and bought weapons in the US.

We might even get to see the free market work like it's intended. I.e. if apple let's them in and android doesn't, I would forecast millions switching to android. Just an example.

I think it's a 128 bit code as in 2^128. Lot faster if they can get the seed out of apple.

lol. Encryption has nothing to do with unlocking the phone. Besides, 128 bit encryption is antiquated.
