Should APPLE be forced to unlock San Bernardino terrorist iphone

dozens of millions of global citizen privacy and rights VS two dipshit shooters

You'd drop your pants that quickly? Freely compromise every phone using that OS so we can all see what happened with these two idiots. No nuclear weapons at risk, no nerve gas taking out the west coast. Just two dead terrorists who were mediocre shots and bought weapons in the US.
Buying & using a phone is your choice it's not a right. This is why I don't own an IPhone. I buy burners every few months......you guys want your cake & eat it too......lol

lol. Encryption has nothing to do with unlocking the phone. Besides, 128 bit encryption is antiquated.

Well I don't know for sure, but my guys claim the encryption seed is that long.
On the other hand, if you think it's so easy why don't you show them how it's done?

edit:
The chatter in the media is about unlocking the phone, but the encryption to data is the issue. Nobody gives a fuck about the phone. They're after data.

Actually I think somebody busted into an Android by passing both the boot and encryption.

Citizen's privacy is becoming obsolete. Rumor has it the government already has the capacity to listen to convos even when a cell phone is not in use but on. Unless we unite against these intrusive measures, we'll have 0 privacy. Atleast now we have around 35-40% IMHO.
Pretty much, except phones with a dead/removed battery and/or unlocked re-configured androids.

I feel apple should atleast give them the legal rights to crack that single phone. Asking for a master key though is straight up crossing the line imo. Apple would need to push out software updates to enable & use this "skeleton key"

NO!!!!!!!

The encryption used HAS no "key".....each phone uses what YOU put in for a "password" as to part of how it encrypts (even finger print and this makes it so far beyond 128 bit it's pitiful) - Thus, as APPLE has said - there is no "key" and the technology to make one (that instantly opens the system) is impossible (for now)!

That's why it takes 5+ years of attempting to (nonstop) crack it - to actually DO it!

BTW, Android has used the same encryption for all top of the line phones including the last 2 models from the point of a particular OS update to the "5"...6 and Note 4 came with it!

What the feds are attempting to do is to get APPLE and by osmosis Android to do. Is to have a "back door" in the OS encryption for them to be able to access your complete phone.

The ignorant assholes can't seem to understand that this now leaves the whole fucking system open to hacking....It's not hard to find back doors into almost anything in sections of older Microsoft OS's.......Hell, I found the key strokes (just by trying different key combinations as you "start" the game) to open up the pinball game used by the developers to build the game.....Like no loss of ball, and scoring functions....this was in XP and that it's self was an open door problem they had trouble attempting to close.....they solved the problem on later versions of Windows - They took the game out!

What? No one uses a "rooted" Tablet?

Well you ever wonder how thiefs unlock phones ?? pretty simple actually there was a app that came in the phones that actually recorded in a back ground that you didn't know did
so what transpired is this all passwords when into a program turns out 1 in 7 Iphones out there will inlock to one of these passwords thieves-unlock-passcodes-stolen-iphones-and-protect-yourself-against-it.w654.jpg

That's just the "password" to open the phone. Nothing even takes only 4 anymore do they?

If you don't have the brains to use some absolutely meaningless to you or your life compound password of numbers and letters and use at LEAST 6 and more is always better for your "password". You deserve to be "hacked"...

I use 11 characters. A prime # of 11 or 13 is so close to impossible to open it's sick!

lol. I don't blame you for not knowing, but this is kinda what I do for a living.

Long story short, the FBI is after unlocking a phone that is completely locked down, it's the first line of defense and Apple has made it the primary line of defense. In the past, older generations of iPhones had several layers of security, many of which were fairly easy to bypass ("hack") -- of which I was actually able to unlock on my own. But that was generations ago. Today, the iPhone is a MUCH more secure system, having hired many of the intelligent "hackers" that gained popularity from releasing scripts that the common person could use to unlock their phone, have turned those hackers into security engineers and architects.

Nobody needs to bust into an Android, as the platform is open already. It's written in Java/C and for the most part is completely open, with the exception of the kernel. But that kernel is very easily bypassed.

Anywho, the act of unlocking an newer generation iPhone has nothing to do with decoding a 128 bit encryption cipher. #justsayin

So what it comes down to is there laziness to use there resources trust me if they wanted it open they could,,,A person found the key to German Enigma machine back in 1940s and with todays tech one could break into a phone ,, Just hook it up to usb port on pc and make a program to keep running numbers eventually it will open also one could easily scan glass and see what area is used more determine them numbers or letters and breaks it down to better odds
but its so much easier and less cost to have manufacture give them the key but by doing this this means if a cop pulls you over and asked for your phone which is off he can easily turn it on , use the key and look into your personal shit , Appears apple is on our side for once and not scared to say no to FBI or the government

My point to you, was that this is not a trival task. It is an intergrated system.

Actually they do still use prngs'.

There's a pdf (9/15) that's gives an overall description of how their integrated system works. It's hardware, software and firmware intensive.

That's what makes this a difficult task.

Your flippant comment is what I responded to.

Yup my iPhone 5 took 4 digits to open, when I got my iPhone 6 it was upgraded to a 6 digit plus fingerprint.

But more importantly what kind of message does this give terrorist, buy an iPhone to do your dirt. Not Good, Imo.

The phone did not belong to the Muslim terrorists. It was property of the employer, City of San Bernardino

The more failed attempts at cracking the password, the longer a person must wait before trying again. Assuming it's a 6 digit password, it could literally take the FBI years

The court order is limited to one specific phone. There is obvious probable cause for the court to do so, given the Muslim's terrorist activity.

The real fucking funniest thing juat because they were muslim makes them out right terrorists or the act they did .
This is a perfect example of how the Government has brain washed literally every fucking american with what ever means necessary , like RADIO , TV etc to fit there agenda and spread the fear of terrorism ,, shot all School shootings should be said to be that of bin ladens orders and Ala made them do it
this is bigger now Stereo typing people ,, you know Cause i like Hitler , or his thought ??? Does that make me a NAzi ??
or better yet cause USA bombed a hospital makes them full blooded terrorist???
Cause who can not see it as a terrorist attack other wise is a hypocrite

Bin laden would be appalled , and has probably rolled in his grave at every dam shooting or bombing in usa blamed on terrorists in the name of Ala...
since 911 big bang )
To actually think they are involved with it Just cause media said it must mean its 100 percent legit personally i highly doubt it i mean cmon , you think a planned attack would be in the region of something in a much larger scale like the Golden gate Bridge a NFL game or NHL game shit like that
its about making a Big fucking statement and effecting everyone all these shootings did was effect a few Why not a mall could of got a shit more other people,,
so now cause FBI say they want apple to give out the key and using that they were terrorists,, and now to go in front of a court
Here is a idea sure apple open it up on live TV show the world it was nothing but to let FBI do it behind closed doors ,,,,
Surely they will plant another 1000 attacks to put the fear and to fit there agenda Cause we all know there 100 percent honest and there is no way Cia or FBI would plant evidence
