I use the potting soil, bone meal, blood meal, and the vegetable, fruit, and flower food from that line and I'm happy with the way it's looking. Yes, I know that MG/Scott's produces it, but I believe it's all certified organic, so I don't see an issue, and please don't bring politics and economics into this; my choice of soil and fertilizer company is not an indicator of the alignment of my moral compass. I don't support Monsanto or the Machine/Man/Devil. As for the blood and bone meal, natural decomposition is what has made soil fertile since the beginnning of time, and it's pig--not cow--byproduct so I should be fine regarding Mad Cow Disease. The only thing I use that isn't organic is IBA for rooting clones and to ease transplanting. I use a 240w Veg and a 500w Bud Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar LED setup for anyone curious.

you probably already don't like me.
I apologize for that.
But you DO in fact support Monsanto.
Giving them money, supports them.
you asked for opinions on it.
My opinion is that Monsanto may be the single worst entity that humankind has encountered.
I hate politics, but sadly it's involved with Monsanto..

People like low hanging fruit...they don't like having to go out of their way to get what they need. I consider MG products low hanging fruit because you can find their stuff easily at your local Walmart or Home Depot. I have no issue with Monsato directly but I would rather source my amendments from a smaller startup than from a huge distributor because I want to see my money go directly to a firm & its employees than to a franchisee & a group of investors. I get a lot of stuff from kelp4less and eBay; locally sourced is best but can't always find what you need

They are quickly making their way into the weed industry too, they keep buying all the nutrient and soil making companies. Bet they gonna have some weird GMO weed plants soon.

So stick to natural OMRI organics and you shouldn't have the GMO problem. NC is just that.

I like you just fine, GMM. I just respectfully disagree with the idea that my choice to use certified organics by a brand owned by MG that are both ideal as well as accessible is an endorsement of Monsanto. Like, it's not black and white like that. It's comparable, although to a lesser extent of offense, to calling a soldier a baby killer because he wears a uniform and enlisted for personal reasons having to do with rite of passage.

my point was simple.
if you buy that bag, there is money that goes into monsantos pocket.
hence the support.
Sure I understand you don't "like" them, but they don't give a shit about that, they DO give a shit when their product stops selling, which won't happen until people STOP buying their stuff/giving them money.
I'm not judging you in any way man, that's never my place.
Only saying that is rather black and white.
I don't agree with your soldier analogy
But I love ya just the same man

I got you, man. I'm not taking a stand, and honestly, I probably drank too much that night. My bad.
nah man, I didn't take any offence to it at all, and like I said i'm not judging you at all, I fill my car with gas (giving oil conglamorates money), buy from amazon, etc, etc.
but Monsanto is a SPECIAL type of evil man... if you look you'll find some seriously fucked up things they've done..
farmers committing suicides at insane rates..
poisoning third world countries
the thing that concerns me is their interest in the cannabis industry
http://www.thedailybell.com/cannabis-marijuana/monsanto-marijuana-initiative-grows-in-uruguay/
http://blog.amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com/2014/05/monsanto-about-to-produce-gmo-marijuana.html

Monsanto IS the potgrowers ENEMY..
they essentially took over the worlds growing of soy man...
that's just insane.
go look.. monstano is possibly one of the most evil entities that humankind has created since skynet and the terminators....
at least we had John Connor for skynet...

I don't have a problem with the meals or anything I just have a problem with all potting soils because they're not economical. To me anyway. I can buy bales of peat moss and bags of perlite and compost from a landscape supply store in bulk and mix a large amount of soil for half the price.

really good advice!
and furthermore, mixing like that leaves a BIG area for improvising with adding native soils, which is never a bad idea, especially if it's from a super green-ass field, with dark soil..
