4x 600w MH/HPS with air cooled push/pull with 2x 8" 720 CMF fans.

Air intake is pulled witha 6" 400cfm fan though an intake filter inside that large box, which has a portable AC/Heater inside. Exhaust out the roof though a carbon filter with another 6" 400cfm.

Also that huge swamp cooler and fan in the tent. I've been thinking about switching to a minisplit and humidifier, not sure.

Nice setup!
I will have 10 x 5 tent with similar setup
Would like to know how You run your portable A/C? Have it 24hrs on? How do you have your climate control with A/C?
How do you run your exhausted fan?
Thanks

what you running 18/6 ?

Yeah depends on the strain, tbh I find the c99 I do will sex up even at 20/4 or 24/0, where as most will barely show sex at 18/6 some of the c99`s will flower up after 4 to 8 weeks at 18/6 so we top them and move them into the 11/13 tent

Yeah if your running 18/6 and there photos I`d drop down to 14/8 or 12/12 or 10/14 carry on feeding them higher N till you see them show female sex then I`d start with the boost and bloom feeds you give

or maybe leave them in the dark for a day or 2 and then go 11/13 on them

or spray or feed them some booster or triacontanol keep them in veg and see if they show sex

Kinda depends how much room and time you have dude, but your going to want to flip and top them right away if you don`t have a taller tent or taller area to grow them in

You may just want to cut a hole in the top of that tent and shine that led light into it that`ll get you more space

just don`t light shock them, OG`s normally shock a bit too easy if you ask me, but they do make some nice buds a lot of the time

@THE KONASSURE , I think they are starting to show sex, They are FEM seeds so it should be like 99% eficiency right?

SO I dont have to wait to see alternate nodes(mature signs) to induce flowering?

Nope you can turn down the hours when ever you want, just a lot of people don`t like to waste space in a flower room with a potential male but fem`d seeds are ok most of the time

Well right now it's set to heat on 72, but until it got cold it would be on AC 24/7 set to like 68.

I have 2 separate intake and exhaust setups. One for the lights and one for the tent. The one for the lights is on a temp sensor and turns on and of. The one for the tent runs 24/7 but I have a speed controller on the exhaust so I have a slight positive pressure. I've been thinking about putting it on the temp sensor as well.

Do you have your tent exhaust on low?
I cant understand when you have A/C cooling the tent, and have exhaust pull the cold air out of the tent.
Isn that the compressor of the A/C will be running all the time cost alot on bill?
AS you have your A/C 24/7, why dont you make your tent sealed?

I've thought about it and realize how inefficient it is. And it actually got hotter than I expected in the garage I'm using so it might have been a better move. My lights run at night so most of the time the AC was only on 12hrs a day but still.... Also, as dry as it is here the swamp cooler actually does a great job of cooling and humidifying but you can't use them sealed. Many homes here actually have them instead of AC. Also, I don't run CO2, and I think a constant supply of fresh is better if you aren't.

The exhaust is set lower than the intake so it does actually work pretty well. If you look at the pics, you can see a duct running down to the floor on the right side. This is where the cold air from the AC comes in. On the opposite corner in the top is the carbon filter for the exhaust and the lights are usually much lower than in the pics. So all the hot air above the lights is being sucked out while all the cool air says down with the plants. Obviously it's wasteful but has worked out well.

I'm finishing up a grow right now and we are moving soon so I may change things up next grow. Although we are still renting, so ultimately I'm limited on what I can do. Hoping to find a place with a finished basement that is tied to the house heating and cooling.

I will not have CO2 either for my new setup.
Never run with A/C and that much light before.

When you have your AC placed in the box out of the tent. How can A/C know the temp. in the tent? know when to have compressor on?
Why having the box for AC?

trying to figure out how to setup AC properly without spending much money on electricity bill.
This is the thread that I created with some question with my AC setup.
we are doing the similar size grow. If you can give me some feedback would be awesome.

Im in the rental place also. Thats way I have tent, and can not do much about electric change.
Eletricity is also one thing I am worry about. three tent in two rooms. 10 x 5 4x4 4x4
It will be total 2400watt use just for lighting. Its gonna be hot out here. I will not harvest will unless have some cooling device. I dont think I want to run total 2400watt light and two A/C( and this is not included my personal use)
Should I worry about the bill? There is another thing, I live in the apartment with four neighbor in the same building.
The electric meter is just set by the door where every ppl will pass by when they go in.
I dont think ppl will have that much attention on that meter, but it might have ppl attention is the meter is spinning fast.
have you ever worried about the bill??

Would like to see your new grow with your new setup.

First of all, portable ACs, like the one I'm using, suck. Go with anything else if you can, mini-split or window/wall mount. Cool the room your tent is in with it if you have to and pull that air into the tent.

I tried a bunch of different things with that AC and that set up and it ended up working out ok like that so I kept it....

It's a long story and I might have been better working it out so the AC could stay inside the tent but I had troubles venting the AC intake/exhaust. You have to duct both or you end up creating negative pressure and basically just exhaust all the cold air, lol. That exhaust also needs to be scrubbed for odor if the AC is in the tent. I think i could have done with some more ducting, another filter and a booster fan and cutting another hole in the tent but yea...

Basically, if the air in the garage was over 72, then the AC would be on. Keeping it in the box allowed me to make sure that the cold air in the box was sucked into the tent(through a filter) right away, with minimal hot air joining it. I tried just building a vent box around the AC cold air output and ducting it but it was a leaky mess. Some portable ACs are designed to do that and just have an 8" hookup for ducting but this one is meant to be in the house so it just has this big rectangle thing on it.

The bill gets high but not too outrageous. It might not be optimal but its very cost effective for me. For the first part of summer, I had the AC in the tent going and we also had window ACs running in our house. But again, it doesn't get that hot here in Denver, so it's hard to say. I haven't done the math but I used to spend $240 an oz at a rate of like 1.5oz per month so was spending like $300-$400 per month for the really good stuff, and what I grow now is even better and on average costs me much less to produce.

I think your biggest worry in your situation should be the smell and the noise. Exhaust fans are loud and hopefully so is your bud ;-).

I actually have a window A/C in that room. I think its really strange to have it 24/7 with neighbor live by both up and downstair. I dont what take any risk. the other thing is here we usually have 120v plugs in the room, and we have window A/C setup with 220V with its power connect to replaceable on wall with 220V 20 amp power from breaker. I realized that when runing HPS, its much brighter when have 220V. I want run my light with 220V. I will save that replaceable for my lights.

Ckeck out the link I paste above
Such a nice guy @smokertoker draw me a picture of his suggestion. pretty similar to what you mentioned. different is your setup do use exhaust, he doesnt. Put the fan for the intake, can solve negitivhpresser problem with single hose A/C in the tent. This is my option if I can not find any good portable A/C with dual locally.

I also heard some said they put exhaust and have it with timer just for the air exchange in the grow room.
I am not sure if I should have a exhaust or not
If yes, should I keep it runing 24/7?
Before I saw your setup, I was pretty much going to have my tent setup like he recommend( less watt use)

That exhaust also needs to be scrubbed for odor if the AC is in the tent. I think i could have done with some more ducting, another filter and a booster fan and cutting another hole in the tent but yea...
What I want to do now is having a filter connect with fan in the tent (no exhaust out) do you think this gonna work well?

Basically, if the air in the garage was over 72, then the AC would be on.
If is in the season you dont need any cooling. the intake still come from the box you made?
I might not need A/C running during Nov.-Mar.
by using the setup @smokertoker recommend I need add one exhaust for pulling air out of the tent.
trying to figure out the setup that I do not need a lot of change when adding or remving A/C

Some portable ACs are designed to do that and just have an 8" hookup for ducting but this one is meant to be in the house so it just has this big rectangle thing on it.

Pls check out attach pic. Is it the similar model you mentioned?
This stuff look it makes a lot of noise.

The bill gets high but not too outrageous.
sounds like you live in the place dont need worry nothing. Im jealous...
I dont know it would be any problem if I have somewhere around 300 per month.
For most residential house use ppl usually have 150 per month during summer( with A/C) have around 50 per month during other seasons. One of my friend have it with 300 per month, but I think he only did one run or two. This is a pretty good unit either the room or price. I dont plan on moving anywhere at least couple 2-3 years. Do you think I will be fine?

I think your biggest worry in your situation should be the smell and the noise. Exhaust fans are loud and hopefully so is your bud
Yes this is also what I worry about.
I already have some muffler and filter arrived. I setup the muffler with intake fan. I connect it with the side where coming in. I does reduce a bit, but not much. I will try to connect on the side where aire coming out to see if it helps more. If it work well, Im thinking have all the blower fan connect with muffler.
luckily I can get the hardware cheap here. 30 for a muffler 50 for a filter both 6"

What would you do to have odor control in my situation?

Much appreciated with your reply
have a nice day

Hey, just reading that other thread. He is giving you good advice. I'm going to copy this over there with some responses....

i dont understand why this thread died in 2016. it would still be just as useful since there are soooooo many different ways to setup a grow. I, myself, am not by any means an expert, nor am I a noob,...im somewhere in between lol. but the main challenge I have now days is trying to make a setup that as efficient as possible,...meaning fans, carbon filters, lights, style of reservoir....are all things that change for me, every grow in attempts to make things more efficient. sorry for the ramble, but just wanted to post why i am resurrecting an old thread before i get flamed ha. hopefully people start posting more pics after mine. thanks all and sorry if there is a newer thread out there like this. heres my current setup. I know it needs some renovating somewhere. for example,..fans can be mounted in very creative ways,....this is my "creative" way of planing my exhaust fan placement
