Am i killing myself? Advice needed

Guys, help me out here. I dont know what to think about this phenomenon.
I am daily (mostly nightly) smoker, but my amounts are very small, like one-two little bongs before sleep. Sometimes i decide to take a t-break and whenever it happens, i start to have these strange feelings, like i want to cough (but i almost never actually cough, this feeling is hard to describe, its like tickle at down of my throat) and it happens quite often. During my smoking periods i get these feelings seldom or not at all.
I went with this thing to docs twice and they did blood test, x-ray, listened to my lungs and said it was ok. But when they asked "do you smoke nicotine cigarettes?", i couldnt answer nothing else but "i had quit not so long ago'. Weed is highly illegal here, i cant admit to anyone that i smoke weed. And they told me "then its fine then, coughing after quitting smoking nicotine cigarettes is totally common" and sent me home. It happened two times already and now i dont see sense to go to doctors again.
Now, i am in the middle of another t-break and have been getting these feelings for three days straight. I am 99 % sure that if i smoke at least once they will go away, but im very anxious because of this. These feelings dont bother me on physical level, more on anxiety level, because i have anxious thoughts that i am on direct route to throat/lung cancer.
Is it like normal thing during t-break, like my airways try to clean themselves? Why i dont cough then, but just want to? Does it mean that i smoke somehow wrong? I cant afford vaporizer, so i smoke with usual bong.
I know that smoking is harmful, but i thought that because of my very small amounts and otherwise healthy lifestyle i'll be fine. I have a friend who smokes 10 times more than me and he doesnt have any feelings like that. I know a lot of people who smoke 10-15 nicotine cigarettes per day and they feel fine too. I am currently try to save some money and buy cheap vaporizer, but i cant do it right now. So, is it dangerous symptom or its normal thing to experience?

Probably completely irrelevant, but I knew a person who had mild turrets, one of their tics was coughing. Had nothing to do with cardiovascular/lungs or anything. Some proper CBD meds knocked it out mostly.

I think you need a bag of Ricola cough drops and something to pay attention to other than your 'almost' cough.
Sorry, im not from US, what is the main function of those cough drops? Do they sedate cough or increase it? Right now i am using cough syrop that contains a lot of herbs.

It is probably the bong, it's too harsh for your throat. Put some ice in the bong next time to cool the smoke. Good luck
I thought about it too. The first time when i smoke through the bong, the water in it is very cold, but it might get warmer further, when i use the bong for the second time.

I forgot to say, that some time ago i had chronic pharyngitis. Maybe it is just laryngeal edema? But why it happens mostly when i stop smoking though...

When you smoke your cilia are immobilized in your lungs... These little hairs work together to move particulates up causing a cough and remove said particulates. When you stop smoking your cilia are able to mobilize. Yours may be more apt to immobilization due to your medical history so your just feeling them free up. No your not dying at an accelerated rate from the sounds of it... We are all on our way out unfortunately

Unless you live in North Korea you should be more than comfortable discussing anything about your health, including illicit drug use, with your doctor.
Bud is legal in North Korea to grow. Sell. And smoke.

I think you're just paranoid. Weed can get people paranoid. You'll be fine. Toke it if you got it.

make and use canna cookies for a time trial

say 1-2 months and report back

the need to cough indicates an air way obstruction

even a chest irritation, its physical thing not mental

check ur lung volume is a good idea

good luck

Thanks for all your responses. I went to doctor once again, to the otolaryngologist. He said that this feeling is the classic symptom of chronic pharyngitis. Its not dangerous thing itself and a lot of people have it, but it would remain chronic while i smoke. Is there a way to diminish this effect? Would vaporizer help or the smoke there would still be harsh and hot?
