There's two groups out there right now, the ones making money and the rest. Both are looking at lighting upgrades as a way to gain/keep an edge.Been one for the last 10 years.
I only said no is buying them. There's two groups out there right now, the ones making money and the rest. Both are looking at lighting upgrades as a way to gain/keep an edge.
Gavita is selling their plasma fixtures, just more slowly.
I still think it's a case of jockeying for last place, but people are trying all the combinations.
Someone is, and I'm pretty sure it isn't the hobby market; they're not any better than 315W CMH for the money...I only said no is buying them.
You and i haven't seen them in any of our circles DE rooms.Someone is, and I'm pretty sure it isn't the hobby market; they're not any better than 315W CMH for the money...
Which is today's hot tech in indoor lighting.
I also think that whatever market they were going to capture got snapped up by 315W tech. You and i haven't seen them in any of our circles DE rooms.
Better yield... So there is a fixture that can pull 3 pounds from a 5x5 space with 1 fixture ? Is it 2grand too?
No bulb replacement.. I pay 25 bucks per bulb twice a year . Less heat.. I pay 13cents per kwhr at commercial space so electicity is not a big deal at this point . Cost falling after a few years... Believeable.. It's like buying a car vs a lease .. Let's be real.. the technology is growing, who's to say there isn't something better in less than 5 years. I would definitely want to upgrade, at which point you wouldn't have paid the difference between hps and the initial cost of your cob fixtures... When I start a new room I don't end up using left over stuff, I just buy new shit. So initial cost is a huge thing.. And considering I don't ever think I will keep 1 grow area for more than a few years each spot.. I don't see the ROI coming back . My opinion. Where are all the dudes with 10+ cob light setups? They aren't around..
Must be true. Because those 315's are taking this industry by storm right now. Most don't know about these cobs unit if not almost all don't. And thats why there is hesitation with some of these bigger operations (I hate the word commercial growers). Everyone is taking this way too personal. And as you already know personally and we have discussed it in DB's shitty ass thread, its a tall task to drop that kind of cash.I also think that whatever market they were going to capture got snapped up by 315W tech.
Agreed, but big oops have that kind of cash and they understand the technological race aspects of the business.Must be true. Because those 315's are taking this industry by storm right now. Whats a big opp?Agreed, but big oops have that kind of cash and they understand the technological race aspects of the business.
As soon as people have a solid upgrade plan for them, they'll move on it in droves.
That, frankly, is my business plan in a nutshell.
Really? Im going to take Theo's word for it myself. There is a big push for quality in this industry. At this point no one is refuting hps is lacking in this department. That's why Gavita recommends a1:1 ratio. Yes these setups are around and yes they are being set up right now. There is a 500k dollar facility being outfitted as we speak. You already know no ones doing that.
Yes really. Being serious here bro. Your throwing shit out there just like you did in post #137. When you asked to see a 4+ pound gavita in a 5x5 area. That was a bad post and made some people even wonder if you've ever been in a facility that your trying to talk about. You should be happy people are running anything they have not trying rub motherfuckers faces in the mud. And then come up short doing so.Really? Im going to take Theo's word for it myself. Big oops; when you have a big investment to make and you blow it. LolWhats a big opp?
You may have mistaken him for me, because I would definitely question four elbows from one gavita, no matter how much acreage you give it.Yes really. Being serious here bro. No he said he wanted to see it. Id question 4+ elbows from any horizontal fixture in a 5x5. I take that back, cuz now we should add veg time into the equation. And I'm no expert on long veg times. You may have mistaken him for me, because I would definitely question four elbows from one gavita, no matter how much acreage you give it.
You won't take it back. LOL. Your one cool breeze bro! I enjoy the conversations friend.I never said 4 pounds in a 5x5 area that was you. I said 2 gpw. That is true and I won't take it back lol.
Grow mouse on his last DIY cob video he got 1.7 gpw on a 4x8 running around 800 or so watts of led and am sure he could attain the 2gpw, and the numbers on COB's are killers as an old HPS grower... HPS is something we used at the time because it was the best option, however today there is a revolution occuring in tech associated with cannabis, and we are in an era of transition... Everything is becoming better just growing with age old methods for 5 years and coming back will surprise you in the tech... I hit the forums every 5-10 years when I upgrade my gear and am really excited ( yep a twinge in my dick excited ) when I am seeing all this fantastic advances in Cannabis from guys have GC's in their houses, DNA Sequencers, Lights, and just the overall quality of growing methods stuff we seen as DIY 8 years ago on the forums has been commercialized and sold as systems now... I agree with ttystikk HPS time is coming to an end... When I was on RIU when I was 28 or so 7 years ago or so I believe LED was still being met with a bunch of resistance the grows sucked in some cases, however now the shit is off the chart son...Been one for the last 10 years.
