CO2 levels?

Hey there,

I'm brand spanking new here so I apologize ahead of time if this question has been posted somewhere already.

I recently bought a co2 burner and i'm trying to figure out what the optimal ppms should be. Most of the info I've found says that anywhere from 1100-1500 ppms is ok.

My question is if I set ppms to above 1500, say 1800 is it going to harm my plants?

Most say 1000-1500 is ideal for co2. I shoot for 900ppm. Im not sure your going to find anyone thats flirted with 1800 ppm. I believe higher ppm's levels react differently to different strains. Not science that I've reserched just strains that I've run.

Thanks Mongo, that definitely makes sense. I'm running OG and Tangie at the moment and the OG seems to be a bit on the small size for how old it is. Really just trying to find a way to give it a boost in these last weeks.

I'll probably just stick to that range.

I run it well over 2500 ppm. one room is 3200 ! . not a room you can stay in for more then 5 minutes . crank it up ! wont hurt any thing . as long as you can handle the heat from the burner .

Wow really?? How big is ur AC unit?? Were u able to compare and see what the difference in yield was?

ac unit depends on your lighting and side of the room so on .difference between 1500 and jacking it up as high as high as the meter lets me is marginal . but in veg it speeds it up majorly . under 1000 watt lamps I am talking shave an entire month off ! if you don't get at lease 1 inch a day veg growth with temps 85f humidity at 50 to 60 % your doing some thing wrong . I have seen 4 inches in 1 day growth ! but in flower honestly its marginal . it only makes the flower it wants that's where you need to super crop them and top them to get the extra flowers packed on . this is my opinion experiences .

Very interesting! It didn't even occur to me to use co2 in my Veg. I'm a bit behind on my veg cycle so that might actually be a good idea to keep on track..Thanks for the info!

actually I have seen some growers stop using co2 in the flower room all together they say there plants look better having them at 75f in flower instead of the 85 f needed to take advantage of co2. and they just use it in veg . its all personal opinion . and if your room is not at least 85 f there is no point of adding extra co2 they will not be able to take advantage of the added ppm . so if I understand correctly from what I am told and what I have read from all the info I could find . just because there is a lot more food does not mean it will want to eat .

I still supplement at flower but just at 900 ppm so I don't have to mess with extra intakes just for flowering. Co2 is cheap and super easy to get in Colorado at 12 bucks a tank every two weeks.
