Anyone ever see pollen, male or femmed available?
is why you gotta freeze it,Yea there is definitely a need for it. I think the main issue is preservation. It's hard to keep pollen viable for long enough.
I put the pollen in a papper BAG then put it over the limb that I wount seeds on then the next day spray the bag with water then take if off that way you get no pollen but where you wount it.Just tye a string around the top of bag so it cant get out...kyI collect by leaning my man over a glass picture or mirror and scrapping it up 3-4 times per day
store to a small medical bottle with a teaspoon of rice
mark it well ...with date ..lol
good luck
best is to use a quarantine area some distance from the females,
apply with cotton bud, allow a minimum of a month for the seed to develop
its not for the faint of heart
I would love to know how any person can store pollen for maney years?i don't think nitgren would work like I save my dogs seamon.BUT THE dog stuff will last for 50 years or longer I bet.pot pollen is a different storey if it could be stored even for 3 years that person would be RICH over night.is why you gotta freeze it,
some can store it for many years,
tho use it in under 6 months is good,
as you get falling returns with time
THE water should kill that fresh pollen for it has not had time to take...iam dun with this thread,,,kythere is more than one way to skin this cat another way is to wait for your pollen sacks to develop on the male you have selected, then cut the pollen sack open and harvest the pollen. this can be frozen for storage as mentioned by vostok.
Then for application:
mix the pollen with a little water on a saucer, and using a small paint brush, paint the water-pollen mixture onto the buds that you want impregnated.
Hope this is helpful
I like to use those little small paint brushes, but basically do what you described above and my pollen was good for a year inside a sealed bag with rice in salad crisper. I also have used cotton swabs just like this recently, but rather the little brush.A well known method, for well over 10 years I've been doing this
is apply pollen with a cotton bud or ur finger wait an hour
then spray the plant well with water
this Kills all the spare pollen that escaped ur particular area
water ///damp kills pollen, thats why the life span is so short
good luck
