Happy growing!

I decided to change the name of my thread today, just for something more general.Im leaving all tags in place as those lights did grow the plants that are seen in this thread so its only fair. And ofc the breeder of these beautiful plants. Thanks again mephisto and Amare.

What weight did you pull off ya that bonsai you posted at the start?
Looked epic!
The soir bubbly in the one gallon was ~110 grams after 10 day dry, about 75grams after curing. Not bad for a little plant:)mephisto breeds some solid strains. But again as long as my needs are met im more concerned with quality over quantity. Thanks for stopping in man.

I was gonna try and bonsai the current plant but the pics I saw of this strain looked so beautiful I decided not to make any cuts,so aside fron some LST shes Au Naturale, lol.

So im thinking the next plant will be in the same perlite/vermiculite mix,in a new kitty litter tray.I want to try a wider and shallower container,im thinking it will help speed up side branching of the roots when the taproot hits the bottom of the container.Plus it will give me ~8in of additional premium grow space. The tall 3 gallon bucket set me back some of my veg time due to this,im thinking. We'll soon see if it makes a difference.

Deffo gonna keep a look out for your stuff. Looks like a fun way to grow. I've just started getting into training and it's more exciting than just letting em do their thing.

That is interesting I have grown my plants right up to the bottom of an SE-220 with no problems. I leave the lenses off in veg and put them on when I flip to flower. They do have to get acclimated to them. Here is a pic of my current grow running 5 gallon fabric pots, pure coco, and Cogo nutrients with cal/mag supplement. This is her at week 6...

I dunno man I always get leaf curl when I lower em down or the plants get too close, and I dont like the overall bleached look.Additionally I tend to get dry crispy leaves directly under the cobs as if they create concentrated hot spots, when they are closer. I dont even use the.cobs for vegging as I dont think its needed.I asked amare about running without the lenses and they advised not to do it and told me they like a 22in minimum.

Here is some of what amare had to say about it.

"The Eclipses come features 120 degree reflectors and 90 degrees lenses. For the lenses picture a cone with the point on top (your light) and the cone is your light beam being 90 degrees from the lenses. You will notice the farther down cone, the footprint/coverage increase in relation to the distance. The 90 lenses also needs ~20" for each COB/monochrome diodes footprint to overlap for maximum coverage and intensity. Your Eclipse generates more peak ppfd than a 1000hps@24" so there's no need to run it any closer than 20", but we recommend 22" with the lenses installed. Your Eclipse generates 1800umol+@12" and ~1400umol@18". The light light saturation of cannabis is ~1500umol with Equatorial strains up to 1750umol so there's no need to ever run it closer than 18" since it's the point of diminishing returns. More intra-canopy penetration will be achieve being farther away. Try taking your open hand at arm's length and hold it up to a light, look at you hand with the behind it and slowly move it towards your face so the fingers will be over you eyes. At the same time notice how your peripheral vision is slowly reduce as you hand move closer to your face and then finally till you can barely see past you fingers to see the light. Now imagine if that was a leaf and you can get an idea that the closer you are to the canopy, the less intra-canopy penetration. Try to imagine your Eclipse as a micro-1000hps with a footprint of 2.5' x 2.5' and treat it accordingly". HTH:)

Cheers!

So a few people have asked me how the sour bubbly in the 1gal.jug was trained.
Well im going to be trying to bonsai the next plant and we will do this one together and see what comes of it :) I think the next contestant is going to be an exclusive pheno deep blue C F2 "mitchs' pick".As soon as my beans arrive ill get the new comer started.

I see, How is your air circulation? I seen the same issue happen with HPS if you get to close. It will cook tops. The same will occur when using a AMARE light since they match or exceed the PPFD of an HPS light. I actually use a SS-150 in a 3 x 3 x 5 tent and have grown some very nice meds successfully with it. As you can see from the picture I posted my plant is only a few inches from the bottom of the light. I have to keep it well hydrated feed a gallon a day. I also have it directly in front of my carbon filter (Green Gator) and use a small fan which circulates the air under the canopy. I adjust it's position daily. You have to treat it like a 1 K HPS light with a smaller footprint and a lot less heat but not intensity.

This morning after her fulvic acid foliar.New led to try out in my space should be arriving tomarrow.

Looks like she wants to concentrate on that main cola,I didnt make any cuts so this is how she chooses to grow, ill roll with it.

Getting just a hint of tip burn now so ill hold at 1.2 ec for a while.

Your Welcome, What new LED are you going to be using?

Interesting you would chose that light. Considering your height limitations. Here is what I found on their spec sheet.

Angle
Choose the 14 degree lenses when the light is more than 24" above the canopy.
Choose the 50 degree lenses when the light is closer than 24" above the canopy.

I would of opted for the AMARE SE 260 CR (Cree) and saved 3 bills and have a higher PPFD for better penetration.
It is one of the lights that I currently use. You also could go with the Epistar model and saved about 450 bills.
Here is what I got using a SE 260... Good Luck !

Cool man ill come check out your shenanigans:) as far as the glass lense degree on the amare im not sure, but I do know from the reaction of my plants they tend to cause hot spots and light stress if you push them too low.I see it under 22in.
Yeah, I agree. The suspension cables are long, keeping the light so far from the ceiling that it's to close to the plants with no room to move up so I'm using it w/o the lenses. There some real-deal lenses though. Wouldn't even call em lenses. More like magnifying optics. Liking the spread w/o the lenses & not to intense so far. I think it's built like a tank. Had to post up a 2"x3" to the ceiling even after screwing it to the strapping. Not very residential. More professional/commercial I think. When does your Apache come in? I personally enjoy trying different LEDs that I like.
