So T5's is the way to go, Im not looking for tall plants, I want to try and keep them short but branchy which the MH has done a great job of, but as Phil k said, My veg space and Flow space are both contained in the same area so the heat from the 400 watt and the 600 watt all add up in the room and is a problem between July and August, Ive resorted to heaving the lights on over night and off during the day and it certainly helps the problem but is not as convenient for maintenance and care. So T5's are the way to go, I actually have a two bulb t5 system already, the bulds got broke and I got CFL on the cheap, so from what I am reading it seems the overall consensus is T5's much better then CFL. And how does the T5's compare to MH 400?

I do 16 in flower and 16 in Veg each has its own 4 X 4 space in an aeroponic system, I just switched last year from Flood n drain, Now I just connected a piece of hose and poked holes all through it and it wraps around the reservoir..amazing how well it works so much time wasted before

less heat, full spectrum, less power. 315 watts grows like a 600 hps
I;m running the 4200 K for veg, but guys are killing it in flower with the 3100 K

Thats complicated but to dumb it down spectrum of a led (actually better) but yeild closer to a hid (but still vary lacking in comparison) kinda like a hybrid between led and hid and meeting in the middle between yeild and quality

I'm always looking for affordable options for growers to keep higher intensity lighting with less heat.... tent and closet growers really need them and generally a quality LED system you can get descent flower with is un affordable for most. so that;s good to hear about that light

nice to see others are going with ceramic lamps,, ive gone with the boulder lamp 315's but im not sure if there are any real differences between the sun system, hydrofarm or boulder cdl's..what bulb are you using in veg? the 4200k or 3100k? ive done 3 comparison runs so far and 3 315's or 945 total watts of cdl blew the 1.000 watt hps away.. im always getting better gpw's with ceramic lighting.. im loving the cdl and also the spectrum of the cdl's seem to take a week off flowering times as well.so a 8 week strain under hps will finish in 7 weeks under the 3100k cdl but you may want to add that week to your veg stage as plants stay shorter but with much closer nodes..

Try looking into plasma if you can afford it not the cheap one's but the ones that do cost big $$$

I have vegged under the old 400 CMH for years, I switched up to this LEC with the 4200 K bulb. My plants took a few days to adjust, it's now been a week and I can see a noticeable difference in the node spacing and bushiness of the plants.

the 315's get better gram per watt averages in flower by far,, with 2 600 watt hps's over a 6ftx6ft area i always got a gram per watt but never much more.. since ive switched to the cdl's my gpw has gotten better with each run, my first run under 2 315;s 630 watts pulled in 800 grams dry weight, 1.3 gpw, then 3 315's or 945 watts total over the same 6ftx6ft area i pulled in a total of 1,322 grams dry n weighed for a 1.4 gram per watt total... cdl are much more efficient,, pluss they take a week off hps flowering times...
