I got a crazy grower buddy that microwaves his premature budz, or he cooks them on the stove with low heat. (But, then again, when he is out of weed he smokes leafs so what does he know?) Either way it is a waste of true sample of what the cured product will be. Have patience my friend...worth it in the end.View attachment 3620200 Hola amigos. Today one of the girls was ready to come down. Don't shoot me but how do I test the strain while being fresh? Fresh as of today. It's my 1st ever harvest and this is the first branch I've ever trimmed. No fancy sheers just a pair of scissors
Vaping is a good idea...but I would still wait for proper curing. But, that is just me.You could smoke the scissor hash, or do a quick microwave dry to get an idea, or on top of a radiator or lamp. None of the quick dries will give you full potency. For that, scissor hash or even smoking the fresh bud would. Or if you have a vaoporizer, vape it.
HMMM...I don't usually try to determine maturity from a pic. But in this case after having zoomed in I tend to agree. Pistils are still very white. Could've gone another week or two probably...to the OP get a good microscope, it's all about the triches.Waiting is best, but it's not gonna hurt to take a little and dry it to try it. Fyi though that bud in your pic is not ready.
Me either but the pistils are a giveaway. Hopefully it was a lower branch and the rest of the plant was more mature.HMMM...I don't usually try to determine maturity from a pic. OR, you can go buy a fifth of absolute and let Mother Ganja do her thing...just sayin.I take sample buds, not usually that large of a sample, and usually a sample is before I cut down the plant, but.... If you want it to taste okish, you can put it in a paper bag overnight in a warm well circulated area(16-18 hrs) if you don't care about flavor, just jonesin, cut it up into small pieces, roll a joint(kinda loose) pop I the microwave at 30% power in 15 sec incriments about 3-4 times, the paper will be wet, take it out and dry it with a hairdryer and it will burn ( the joint and your throat)
That should have gone for at least 2 more weeks. Leave the plant be unless you want some preemie.View attachment 3620200 Hola amigos. Today one of the girls was ready to come down. Now that's even funnier than morons wanting to know what strain a seedling is! LOL!!!Absolute? Why girls showing up?View attachment 3620212
Ok, now I have to ask, what strain is it? And don't the leaves start to discolor when it's done? I'm only asking because I've never heard of that before, any plant I've seen, even non cannabis has started to lose a little of its color at full maturityAccording to my seed guy "The hairs don't always completely change color with this strain. The crystals are pretty milky so it's ok to take it down. I've been growing this strain for 4 years and this is the typical outcome". My other plants have a lot of pink and orange hairs but they are another strain. I'll update this thread after official harvest. Thank you to the people who helped me with the info.
It's chem dawg crossed with og kush. When he told me about it I was confused because that's not normal. I had a few grams of the seed mans buds and they also had more light hairs then dark and it was very dank. The yellow leaves had fallen off a few days ago. I'll have more pics in a few days.Ok, now I have to ask, what strain is it? And don't the leaves start to discolor when it's done? No not all strains fade during the end of flower. Some stay green all the way through. It really depends a lot on whether you give Nutes all the way through harvest or give some sort of flush.Ok, now I have to ask, what strain is it?
