Solar panels for what?Just curious i had the thought today, and if you are where did you get it how much etc.
Some people want to live off grid. If you are doing a small 400-1000w grow it is very feasible to use solar for a high budget. You can do a whole house DIY for around 10kSolar panels for what?
If u mean to power a grow light forget about it.
Panels are typically $1.24 a watt on average so u would need a lot of em.
A 200 watt panel is around 250$ and depending where you live you will maybe get 200 watts out of it for 3-5 hours a day. Your 400watt grow light will need 12 plus hours worth of juice so that would mean you would need a significant battery bank just for that 400 watt light. Some people want to live off grid. Hmmmmm, plants in sunlight you say? Not sure if it will catch on, but hey it might workYou're better off just putting the plants themselves in the sun.
You might be surprised at what they do!

It all depends on where you live and how much exposure you get. Having a 10kw system doesn't mean you'll always generate that much. You'll probably only generate 10kw for about 2 hours a day during peak exposure. It would cost quite a bit more than 10k for a single family home running a grow to be totally off grid. Adding in some wind turbines and a propane generator for a backup is always a good idea. Some people want to live off grid.
