Rootbound autos

Repot or not

Hi all, I went up last night and one of my girls was dropping and yellowing in the top middle so looked underneath and the roots are in the drain holes. Should I repot or simply sit on another pot of soil so not to stress it ?

I'm four weeks this Sunday above ground, I was in 11 litre pots I have transplanted them to 15litre buckets ever so carefully. I cut the old pot off then reported them, see what happens I suppose now

Keep us updated dude. The majority say not to top or repot autos, but I've seen crazy results from people who do just that. Sounds like you've done it in the least stressful way possible.

Out of interest, what strain are you growing? Are you just using regular plastic pots? I'm growing in 15ltr airpots, which I'm hoping provides enough space for a good root system. Automatic air pruning should help some too...

I had absolutely no issues transplanting. Reluctant to endorse it since I don't have enough grows under my belt, but it worked well for me.

I was really quite worried about the transplant as I've also seen the majority say it's a no no, but I didn't see the point in just resting on a new pot of soil so thought I'd go for it. I'm growing sweet cheese auto and kera crazy bud and now they are in builders buckets with plenty of drain holes drilled in.I'm in my first go and went with straight into end pot but came across this problem asif it hadn't built a rootball to build upon !! So now hoping it will give them new life after recovery will keep posted here's a pic from last night bottom left is the one that caught my eye to what was happening. I'll upload a new pic tonight of the repotted setup

When you cut the pots off, did you see roots wrapping round the edges of the soil? Or just straight down? Are you feeding from the top of the pot, or bottom feeding from the saucers?

With your builders buckets, you should maybe look at making your own air pots, drilling holes quite far up the sides to promote air pruning/new root growth.

I look forward to regular updates, and a future smoke report. I'm gonna google those strains now! Need to buy new seeds....

When I removed the pots they were both wrapped around the square pot and also straight down, I bottom fed whilst seedlings then top fed from there on but I never really took the drain away properly so this could have been why they filled the pot so quick. I have already drilled holes on sides of the buckets although my medium is Dna mills with cork so has plenty of air anyway, I'll keep the post going and share the progress, have a look at blue kripple I've heard some good things if not auto ak potent and big yields apparently

Too late done it already, the picture really didn't show how bad she was. They were sat quite low in the pot too so it would explain it a little I will see later on the effects if any of the transplant

I'm trying to find some awesome auto genetics. Looking at all the Dr. Kripplings, Speed Seeds and Flash, simply as they're quite well priced, meaning I could buy every strain and try them all. We shall see. One week to narrow down my choices!!

I've only got a smallish tent, 80x80x160, with a 400w HP's. Ideally four at a time in there, maybe make a smaller box to get them through veg, and try a staggered perpetual, planting every 2-3 weeks. Might even try some outside! I'll look at kera seeds, I like the name crazy bud!

Highly doubt it was root bound.Autos have a very small rootmass,and its common for the roots to hit the bottom of the pot and grow out the drain holes.This doesnt mean the whole pot is proliferated.It means its just starting to root branch.You can grow full cycle autos in a 4 liter pot man..that was an unessessary transplant,might not hurt a thing if you are lucky.But totally unessesary.
