Fuck...need help with problem asap

So I live in a state with a very warm climate. I have a small 2 plant grow going on inside that is flowering as we speak. So im in an apt and my a/c fucking broke or atleast stop blowing cold air. The fan runs but its hot air and idk what to do. I of course would just call the apt maintenance to have it fixed but i dont want them that close to my grow at all and especially when im not there so i know they arent snooping around. Im not sure how hvac systems work so im not sure if it is a problem specific to my unit or if its like some central hvac problem that needs fixed outside so I dont even need to do anything.

What the fuck should I do? I cant give my babies to anyone so thats not an option. I do have a carbon filter of course but i still think i can smell it a little in my apt as its a very very small apt.

I'm sure youve done this but have you checked the filter, when they get clogged the a/c stops blowing cold air

Tricky. First off, get a better or bigger carbon filter. You shouldn't be able to smell a thing. I live in an apt, too, and I do ALL the repairs myself if I can, or I hire an outside company. I want maintenance in here as little as possible. I would just buy and install a new window unit myself, or hire an outside company to come fix it. Let us know how it turns out, good luck...

Tbh idk why I can smell anything its def an oversized carbon filter for the space I'm in . Also I'd prob have to turn it off when they came or else they be like wtf is there a loud fan noise coming from the closet lol. I also thought about hiring an outside maintenence but can't afford it right now or a wall mounted ac unit. I thought about just masking the little smell there is with candles and food or febreeze and just be here while they do it to see if they act weird

Def don't leave anyone in there alone... If you don't think those guys are gonna look around if ANYTHING at all seems weird to them, then you need to quit growing illegal nuggs. The smell of flowering plants is going to be SO strong to someone who doesn't smell it everyday when they are home. They are going to know in a second what's up, unless you are home to keep them from snooping. I think cooking a strong smelling food is a good idea, I go to some friends apt buildings and all you can smell in the hallways is diff foods being cooked.

The smell isn't that strong since the carbon filter I have. I mean you have to be like within a couple feet of the tent and even then it's faint but still I guess I'm just paranoid cause I of course am always looking for the smell

Be home when they come, and play music (and maybe put a box fan on high) to drown out the sound of the fan/filter. Definitely be home, and don't let them in your closet. Good luck...

Couple thoughts
Is your grow in an open area of your apartment or a closet? Closet makes life easy. Open um not so easy.
If it's in a closet, just get some scented candles and light them up the day you expect your maintenance guy.
Hiring an outside maintenance guy is a bad idea, stranger danger, and your apartment might get curious why another maintenance guy is there.
Chances are your maintenance guy is a stoner himself anyway. He may come back later and ask if you got some to share.

It's in a closet so visually I'm not worried about it. But yea I thought of an idea to cover the sound so that should be good and smell should be good too by cooking food

Funny you should say that about the maintenence people lol in my old apt the guy used to smoke with my dealer and knew my apt we all did too he would joke about it with us

Just unplug your fan while they're there. They do need to knock first. Have some incense ready.
Works for me when I need maint to fix something in my apartment.

Breaking shit? I didn't do anything. Woke up this morning and it wasn't working. And I agree I'm not telling anyone . No one knows anything except me

Are the condenser or compressor always located on the outside of the apt? I thought it was this or maybe low on freon

You don't know that, he said its blowing but not cold air..could be freon leak..I'm assuming its a rooftop unit if its an apartment.. Mask the smell n should be fine, all or most of the work will be on the unit on the roof not in your flat.

with your indoor fan running...look at the outdoor condenser...there is a cover where the voltage enters..remove the screws...inside look for the contactor(wires in and out...seperated by contacts)push the contactor in and see if the compressor starts

Yea everything on it seems to work. If I set it to auto/or cool the fan cuts kn but no cold air just hot air blowing out.
