It was less then 1000 to start, now it is only about 300 to produce 32 oz every two months My overages are the main issue, I usually get rid of less then 16 ounces in 2 months and when the new crop is chopped I'm still sitting on another 16 oz. usually by the end of the year I still have about 5 or 6 pounds in reserve " just in case". So for a year it is about 3600 to 4600 bucks to produce 12 lbs on average.

Im honesty a little hesitant to list it and add it up lol....like someone else said above...always spending a little here and there.......lol. but I have tried to diy lots.

Well any strain can , I guess I forgot to say I'm growing SOG style with 32-35 clones, usually gumboldt or skunk #1, I'm trying strawberry banana and banana kush in my experimental's room to see if there worth it or not

Bout 250 for a full 400W HPS setup plus ventilation plus a 4x2x5 tent. 300 with a carbon filter in their as well.

I scowered Craigslist for months and just very slowly built my setup by pouncing on deals that popped up as soon they went out. A lil ackward at first cuz it's like "what are you gonna use this for?"... and I go "Uhhhhh... peppers." And the guy goes "im puff the magic dragon friendly." And I'm just like lol good I figured no body uses HPS lights to actually fucking grow plants that arnt weed... lolololol. From there on I realized every seller was using it for weed and I don't think anybody ever grows veggies under HPS...... cuz common, that's just such a waste hahaha.

Now...in the next couple weeks...I want to turn my flower cabinet into my clone/veg chamber and double my flower space to roughly 4 to 5 x 8 or 10...with 2 lights and 4 weeks between each half....allowing a 4 and a half week perpetual harvest.
Inevitably it means more investment....here we go again...

Saiyaneye, you've seen my plants, I use coco coir and it's GREAT. I guess I don't have soil to compare to but this is my first grow and...

Supplement that shit with a lot of cal mag though, it'll need it in this medium. And accurately pH to about 5.8 and they grow really well. A lot of info out there that suggests coco really increase your yield as well. It's like hydro, but with all the nostalgia and ease of soil.

Also, don't listen to people who say to use the pet shops coco. I tried that at first and I found my plants dying and having super slow growth for a good month with all other variables just fine. Turned out the coco (I got from the pet store) doesn't retain water for shit compared to the stuff I got at the hydro shop.
 
Oh ya forgot about my root rot issues...had to brew beneficial bacteria tea...
