hello everyone. i bought this setup http://www.ebay.com/itm/1000w-Thunder-storm-double-ended-socket-reflector-HPS-MH-Super-Lumen-Kit-/222048410510?hash=item33b31ddb8e:g:Iz0AAOSwAuNW3fEK. my question is it says it 110v and 240 vollt, i would like to use the 110v option, but the only switch is the dimming switch. i thought there would be a 110v or 240v selector, is this normal? second question is can i just cut off the 240v end of the cord that came with it and put a 110v on the end as long as i wire it up right? this is the first one i have bought. there is not any a on off switch. i would ask the seller but they said they are not familar with these things, its a one time deal selling them. thanks for any help

I would get ahold of the manufacturer, and ask those questions, don't think you can just cut off a 240 cord and put on a 110 and expect it to work.

im not 100% but i'm pretty damn sure its just stating that the unit can run using a 110v or 240v, most house outlets in the US put out 120v so you should be fine, theres no need to cut anything...

Most likely the cord that comes with it is for 110/120. A 220/240 cord can be bought as an option. There is no switch to change. Just changing the cord takes care of it. And you cannot plug a 110 into a 220 socket. Or vice versa. They are two different types of plug ends.
