1st Grow, Nirvana Swiss Cheese Auto in soil with CFL, 5 gallon space bucket

Hey guys first timer here. Been reading as much as I can online for a few months and I've almost got everything together to get started.

Ordered Swiss Cheese Autos from Nirvana, processing was fast and I had the package 11 days after it was paid for (in the states).

Almost done putting together my first 5 gallon space bucket with a 5 bulb CFL setup. Going to use fox farm ocean forest for soil.

Hoping to start germinating within the next few days, I'm sure I will be full of questions over the next couple months.

And for my first question...

I am trying to start up with 2 buckets for my first grow.
I just picked up 4 fans from a local shop. 2 are bigger and 2 are smaller. Is there going to be an optimal set up as far as which to use for intake/exhaust?

Questions are always good. The day I stop asking questions is the day I retire. (Never)

I have experience growing nirvanas swiss cheese. Got about 2 oz from 3 plants.

I'm a little confused by your setup though, what are you growing in? Closet? Cabinet? DIY box?

I am following the guide for the blackout space bucket... essentially it is a 5 gallon bucket with a 5 light cfl lid, an intake on the side of the bucket and exhaust on the top of the lid. Outside in duct tape, inside is mylar.

I will post a couple pics of what I've got going on so you can see later after work. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on my fan question before I get home so I can get that part done tonight.

I have not looked much into LED yet, not expecting a huge yield as it's a small space with autos. I have looked at some LED buckets that look good, I just don't know anything about LED and being this is my first rodeo I wanted to give myself the best chance for success.

I found this answer to a question in the grow room section. Does this then mean that I should use the smaller fans I got as intakes and the larger 2 as exhaust? Will the smaller fans I have be sufficient enough air movement for the plants?

Yeah i just went and read the tutorial on growweedeasy.com i assume you have a reason for choosing this set up? I'm gonna sub and watch this grow im curious. Anything i can help with always glad to.

That's exactly where I found the idea. I chose it because nothing in the description felt too difficult to get started with as well as it being practical for my current living situation. I hope to learn through this and maybe keep the buckets for autos since autos are smaller by nature based on my reading, but eventually move on to a tent and photos.

Thats a good website. I learned a lot when i was first starting. My first grow was 2 plants in 1 gal pots out of bag seed in a old dresser i removed the drawers and turned up on its side into a box. Made a plywood door woth latch for it. Had a pc fan 70cfm hooked up to a 4" duct and carbon filter hahaha useless.

But my point is i researched for about 4 months and i made it through my first grow with cfl bulbs and a ratty dresser got 2.5oz. I hope you enjoy the journey it only gets easier after the first grow :)

Just be careful about overwatering its easy to do when youre first starting.

I have done about 4 months of Web research too. So much to learn but it's exciting and I'm loving the DIY adventure. That dresser sounds awesome btw.

As for over watering I have read that letting the soil dry out between waters is good for root development so hopefully that won't be one of my mistakes
