Fishing 101 for newbs.

I found a nice deep stream about 60ft wide, looks deep. About 8 mins north of the house. In a small town called LaSalle.

I bought a fishing pole and a small tackle box. Lol a $20 zebco from walmart the new 33.. Lol


I suck at those open face ones.

So I fished a little in Texas, I've only caught maybe 12 fish in my entire life.. Sad I know..

When I was maybe 10 years old at lake O pines in east tx, I caught a massive catfish probably like 12 pounds or so. It had like 6 broken hooks lines in it's mouth.. I drag that beast back to the camp site and my Madre freaked the fuck out lol...

So I don't know two shits about fishing here in Colorado much less in general..

Can anyone help a newb out?

Hammaker sclemmer (fancy ass catalogue) has a remote controlled boat (1foot or so long) that has a remote operated fishing pole attachment so you can sit on the shore, send the little boat out to the deep part you could never cast to, reel in your fish, remote the boat to the shore and use the included extendo grabber to pick up the boat and fish! But for sure bro this summer I'm taking you fishing

read a short illustrated book it will help immensly.

fish in stream are either in deep pools or waiting for is treat somwhere calm...trout will be like behind a rock facing up stream so so ideally you want to cast so your lure or fly lands in front of the rock and floats over...right into the waiting fishes wheel house.

In deep pools and bends cast into the deep dark parts of the water and let the lure sink...when your reeling reel in slow and use lots of wrist flicks and pops...study the insects and small creatures in the surrounding area for lure ideas...


or just be gay and baitfish and drink lots of budlight probably private land any ways

river brook trout is about it. and even then, still believe, someone planted the fish there. preference would be to catch bare handed. Himalayan, pepper, lemon. foil wrap. Fire.

So I know morning and sunset are best. I will get off around 3 pm tomorrow mountain time. But it's suppose to snow maybe a couple inches tomorrow. I could care less about the snow, but would that be a bad timing? What kinda bait should I use?

I like minnows and worms because that is what we used in Texas. In texas it was mostly striped bass, and people fish different for bass.. What is in Colorado rivers? Like said above trout? What would be the right bait and time of the day?

If any you boys come down south come see me. I'll have you pulling 50lb+ catfish.

Biggest I got was 66lb. This fucking fish was bigger than me.

Well I've have done it with friends, we basically butchered the fuck out of it and made nuggets.. Like I said I am a newb..

Youll be fishing for trout they will like the cold water cut throats only eat bugs so your SOL with that but if there are rainbows use power bait or salmon eggs..still early so the color is probably green or yellow with glitter..worms will work just fine to..doubt youll be catching bass this early in northern CO maybe some cats idk have not fished up there since i was a kid

I must have caught over 1,000 fish tell me yo momma never gave you a pole and told you fuck off? Shit was awesome down in Florida in the intercostal and the beach. The intercostal I caught a 3 foot hammer head shark when I was maybe 10.

hey @ODanksta , you might need a fishing license. you can get them at the sport store.

Worms. Shiners. Crayfish. Hellgramites. All work great.

Dough balls. Canned corn. Peas. Oatmeal balls. Even hot dogs. All work great.

Rapala. Yo zuri. Rebel top water hard/jerk baits. Work great.

Sometimes you can throw on a spoon or even red devil and if the current is strong enough you cast and don't real. Let wiggle in current until fish on. Watch out for snags.

Any clue what kind of fish? Trout. Bass. Carp. Bluegill. Chad. Catfish. Pickerel. Eels. ??
