Hello everyone I just joined your forums to further my knowledge in cultivating medical marijuana. I have grown before from seed but I got my hand on a clone and I need some help, shes growing beautifully in my DWC I just have a question I wanted to try mainlining as I got 10 clones for free and wanted to try it on one but I'm having difficulties on locating where? Since it's not symmetrical I'm a little confused and would love some guidance / advice since I will be doing a journal which I will be updating weekly starting this Friday :)

Here are pictures of anyone can help out I'd greatly appreciate. If possible to copy my photo and drawn on it where I should be cutting and what I should leave ect thanks

Why is that ?
The seed that grows into a plant thave the perfect structure to create the Y effect that you want in a plant that is ready to be mainlined. Screenshot_2016-03-23-01-30-42.jpgand then theres a clone where the Y effect is harder to replicate be cause its a clone the internodes are not equal in proximity to each other. Thus making it harder to mainlining.Screenshot_2016-03-23-01-27-57.jpgi would also cut ur plat where see the white line.

When should I top the root ball is this big, would it be ok to do now? Also you're saying cut off at the white line leave the 2 shoots below it and then as it grows I'll have to pinch and bend to slow growth to the upper shoot to allow lower shoot to catch up in dominance?image.jpeg

The way hellmut bones does it will mean you have to waste a lot of time and plant material. The way I showed you, you don't have to waste any time/growth. It's fine, I guess, if you don't mind cutting half your plant off. How long do you think this took to grow?

Do you see all that wasted growth you'd be cutting off? I'd have to argue that my way is more efficient. Top it now, clean out the lower growth, and train the 2 new shoots as the grow. They don't need to be big Y lateral branches before you start training.

Well you want to force the plant to force itself to grow more shoots, and more branching while keeping the plant short.
Imagin maine lining with one or two gigant branches and then having 5-6 smaller ones. U want all of them the same height.

I dont know what that has to do with letting a plant grow to 2ft tall just to cut it in half. You can top it young and train the 2 new shoots as they grow and still end up with a T, even if its already alternating. Im saying I would get the mainlining process started now so he wont have to cut all that much off his plant.

Bro his plant is like 6inches! This is the best time to top. If ur gonna top do it right. Top right where i showed you and ur gonna keep it short and bushy the way Gary told you will still have a main stem.
That main stem has to be cut out all together to induce more branching to be able to mai line.

There's no wrong answer I just want what would be more efficient and to answer probably 5-6 weeks growth my clone has been in for a week Friday and cut maybe 2-3 weeks ago

I prefer to have some room underneath the plant. It'll still branch out just fine.
