Anybody know where a good place to look for maybe some big laughers or other strains in western Massachusetts mainly near the Somers ct border?

You won't find nothing like a cubensis but you can find good edibles and medicinal mushrooms, chaga year round too. Not sure what any of them mushrooms you found are though. Best just to find out the popular ones cause many edible mushrooms out there but they don't all taste good. I have seen chicken of the woods grows on oak chaga on birch some more around just haven't found it. I am a bit north too but should be the same mushrooms.

But if you just want to get high grow them I have seen those amineta muscarea but they have a poison in them so I'm good with cubensis very easy to grow, spores legal in 47 states.

Be one with the shrooms.

What about Psilocybe baeocystis they come from Maine but I heard on shroomery they grow in Connecticut too

Could be I don't how to identify them for sure though and majority are less potent than cubensis their is one you can grow on wood though and she is the most potent psilocybin mushrooms but you need to grow them to. Always safer to grow your own unless you are 100% on identifying because the wrong look alike can kill you.

I live in an older house so I'm afraid that I might not be able to prevent contamination. But with a wood grow I can make sure that my mycelium is going to be the victor in the end. What is the Latin name?

You can still grow shrooms in a old house just clean the shit out of the room you are growing in. Never tried a grow the wood lovers but here is one way I didn't actually read it over too good just skimmed.

do you think I could inoculate the colonized chips into a log and cookie like they do for oyster and shitake or is it strictly flower bed. I know you've never done it just want a second opinion

Probably but you might want to check into them more I haven't tried to grow them yet but I may this year just remember they are 2-3 times stronger than cubensis pretty much why I want to try growing some probably won't sell them unless I make chocolates. Lol

I might try a log and cookie indoors but the temperature range for these is odd, I wonder if I can keep it at a consistent temp, your link has them growing awfully slow and I would like to speed it up. Still don't think there's a spot in this house that can be cleaned to the standard. Broken windows with mold and holes in the walls. Definitely gonna try it when I move.
