Soiless medium considered hydro or soil?

Just as easy for a noob to mix their soil too hot as it would be to over-fertilize a peat watering. The peat plant can be started in the right direction with the next watering...what does the guy do to rectify his hot soil?
Flush it. Did you not read the post. In soil you have a buffer. So if your mix the soil too hot. You flush the soil and your plant will recover. If you mix a dwc Rez too hot. Your plant will die almost instantly. And it won't recover as you have essentially mainlined an overdose of Nutes. Do you think peat based mixes aren't soil? Because they are... Pretending you're running hydro because you don't use standard potting soil is cute lol.

Ahhhhh, sensing butthurt....
If it is 3.5 feet then it certainly doesn't look like a 5 zip plant. Rich, Tell you what, open a thread asking everyone to guess the weight given that height. I will owe you a dollar for every guess 5 and over and you will owe me for every guess under five. Sorry dude, neither the original plant pic nor your trimmed up one is overly impressive. If it/they are/were over 5 then, yes, impressively dense.

Edit: Forgot Kmog already guessed...counting me ... You start out owing me $2. :)
That absolutely does look like at least a 4 zip plant IMO. The only reason I even put 2 is because people do fuck up density. Widow seems to grow some decent shit though so probably not the issue there.

If you're saying you'll pay him money for everyone that guesses the weight correctly and he owes you when they're wrong... That seems like a pretty silly guess to me.

I think you were asked to guess weight to show if you have any idea what your talking about when it comes to yield guesses from a picture. Which your reaction to doesn't weigh too solidly in your favor. But maybe you were just avoiding the question/using my guess as a foundation for your response for fun...?

Coco and peat are DTW hydro, not soil, or so I've been told.

I would say peat based mixes are more like soil than hydro. I actually use a pretty much only peat and coco based soilless mixes in a soil style when I grow with pots/beds. So I guess part of it is how you treat the media/system. But I think roots organics organic soils are all peat based. Buildasoils soil is peat based I think I remember as well.

IMO soil is a style of growing, not the fact that your soil mix is based on natural occurring soil makeup rather than something tailored to work in the same way. If you stick your plants in a media that looks like soil, in pots or beds and hand watering/drip feeding less than twice a day. You're growing soil IMO.

Based on the last paragraph, I'd say that that is strictly your opinion. Peat's a moss, not dirt composition. Drainage, composition, and action, I believe, classify it as DTW hydro, as it is not at all composed of actual soil, unless specified in a bag.

Not trying to be insulting, but I think if the majority classifies something as DTW hydro and separate from soil, I think the consensus has a reason behind its decision.

Lol I stated it is my opinion Throughout the entire post I'm pretty sure. But as far as there being peat based soil mixes you're wrong because there are a ton. And while I would say that the technicality of growing a soil style grow with a media that isn't using straight soil they pulled from the ground is technically not soil, it is fooling yourself or similar to giving yourself a pat on the back for doing hydro when it's really more a soil style grow. If you run. A hydro setup with soil as the media in your net cups, is it not hydro anymore? Or are you running hydro that happens to have soil as an aspect of its holding media.
peat based soil mix.

Pumice is a volcanic soil stone. Other than that, I guess you're right, partially, in saying it's how it's applied.

I suppose it's true that if you treat something as soil, it's soil, but if you treat it like DTW hydro, it's hydro. Soil as it's used on the page could also be an advertising misnomer, too, though.

You're not really getting the point. It's still peat based. And I've run 100% peat the same way i do soil and it works fine. I wouldn't call that drain to waste hydro. Again it's my opinion, kind of like internal Rez aero being glorified dwc. As soon as the roots are in the water, it's dwc not aero.

Lol I saw that we were getting to the same thing. And yes that is
All I was saying. If you treat a media like soil, it's my opinion that you're running a soil grow, regardless of whether you use naturally occurring soil mix or not. So soil is a style as well as a media haha.

That particular plant was 150.5 grams. It was over five oz. heres the thread its on, you can check it out. https://www.rollitup.org/t/cali-connection-grape-kush-search-for-the-purple.893517/page-4
Im actually thinking about starting to grow some autos. 8-9 weeks and 4-8 oz per plant with the right strains? Why not right? And if you look at that plant, you can see how that 150.5 gr plant took me an hour to trim. Thats a pound in four hours with fiskars.

Do you start autos out with a flower-focused light? Obviously timing goes out the window, but does intensity matter after seedling stage?

What is cute is the thought of trying to flush out the problem of a newb mixing a soil too manure-strong.
As Bob Marley says..you cannot flush away from yourself.

Most people I think do consider peat and coco, soilless. Hydro no, soilless yes. Not on your planet?

Then you had really shitty soil and/or you were not organic.

all you have shown with this post is that you do not have any idea what you are speaking about. And that your reading comprehension is not commendable either.
Then you had really shitty soil and/or you were not organic.
if you knew anything about organics and the way the plants utilize real organic nutrients you would understand that this post is wrong. Maybe go read a bit on living soil. Also you can go through my threads and posts on here over the past 8 or so years and then get back to me as to whether my soil/media is shitty. Also if you are mixing organics so hot that you can flush out a majority of nutrient buildup and you're killing plants, you should probably just quit growing cuz you can't follow basic directions.
Coco is, for sure, DTW hydro. Also, what tribe, Dave? 1/8th Cherokee here.
Yep I was speaking specifically about peat based mixes treated as soil I'm a grow setup. But saves reading comprehension is a bit lacking it seems.
