Bills ain't shit if you plan to have children. Not to mention how do you even plan to own a home? You said you would save $20 k to visit/move that ain't shit but a down payment on a home if you got good credit and solid work history.

My wife may not technically work but she does help me with a lot and takes care of my kid it takes 2 cause I damn sure couldn't do it all myself and pay for daycare meanwhile my wife works and contributes nothing just sending all her cash to family. Meanwhile you buy diapers, formula, toys, car payments and repairs, clothing, stroller, car seats etc. etc. Don't forget Christmas and electronics my daughter killed 3 computers and 5 tablets in less than 2 years!!

Also food is constantly going up in price didn't bother me when I was single but it sure as fuck bothers me now I have a family to feed.

But whatever you're a grown man you make your bed you lay in it. I just think that deal is the biggest load of bullshit I ever heard.

My wife (born here barely) and has half her family in the phillippines says it's extremely common for woman to do this. Her cousin left her son with grandma while she moved here and saved money while sending it back to her son also. Now the son lives here with her as well. Lot's of judgement and hate on here (funny coming from me as pot/kettle)

She said the PI is so fucked up and you work your life away for peanuts. Most of the smart, ambitious people find a way out to make real money or they are doomed to a life of poverty. Her Grandpa was killed by Muslim rebels for shits sake. Not sure about y'all but I'd do what I could to leave also.

the bobster is right, huge amount of people from the philippines(fathers &/or mothers) living in overseas countries working & sending remittance back home to the fils, cos they cant earn jack back home, even the smallest remote villages will have some form of remittance office so the relatives can collect funds from their kin working OS, kids usually are left with grandparents or aunts/uncles for the period of OS employ, this method of external funding is vital to millions of peoples lives there
