I'm starting a new micro grow project in a 30x30x60cm tent and was wondering if anyone has experience on lighting for similar sized space? I've been considering Mars Hydro Reflector 48, but would prefer a whiter light, DIY isn't an option. The less vertical space the light takes the better, this kind of closes out all E27 LED Spots because the bulb+socket is just too high vertically. Suggestions?

Maybe something similar to this ->ONE<-?

[edit] I reconsidered DIY, I have 4 of these drivers, I would need the rest of the parts to make small wattage COB lights, could I find the parts from a single EU based site or do I have to source them from different stores? Maybe two lights in the 30x30x60 tent would be enough, four might be overkill?

A roleadro or lightime tunnel? I moded to run 2 cxb3070 off 1 driver. Chose 3070 because of the size of holder I had from a diy. Also one driver cal run both original leds. I plan on getting 6 more cxb3070 to round out the package. Should still be about same wattage as what it actually was but much much cooler temps

Fair warning about the holders though, just went out and checked, one led wasn't working, it had shifted in the holder. Not seeming to be the easiest thing to keep aligned while tightening. Is it Operator, ideal brand, dunno.

So, I recently started up and got 2x panels with 4 cxb3590 3000k running at 220W each panel, got parts to build a third just havent done it yet. Now my question is with my 3000k lights (Using it for both veg and flower atm, first grow) Should I be looking for some supplemental lights in different spectrums (For either veg or bloom), or is that just overkill?

Hey all, I'm in preliminary research phase for constructing a light system for a veg room, and would sure appreciate some Intel on an appropriate LED setup for a strictly vegging room measuring 10'x10', with 8' ceiling.
Would using all 3590 6500k be ideal here? Looking for how many cobs to cover this area adequately. Basically, what's a good heatsink to cob setup (passive cooling) and how many such units would be needed to fill that area?

I apologize in advance if questions such as these have been addressed somewhere else in forum, but the threads are so exhaustingly long (been pouring through them in great depth) that is much easier to just ask. Any and all input is welcome.

Are there any drivers that would driver either 2 CXB 3070s or 2 CXB3590s at a good efficiency for a sort of mini growbox? Has somebody experience with that?

I spent hours researchng LED while I waited for someone to reply to my question about which LED is the top contender's to replace a 1000w setup.. The truth is I run 2 x 600 DE but I try to keep it simple.. The answer is cxb3590 sveral times and you can drive it at 1400ma for the win. But it isn't that simple is it... We need to consider how efiicient we want to run.

Guys none of the answers were on this thread.. Most answers to my questions were in grow journals that were running similar floor space. And I found the answers just learning key words and adding them to my google search until I got it.. Vero 29 hmm.. Anyway I get the just of it all now. Don't bother with this thread it is a time sink

Alright, this question may seem silly, but here it goes anyway.

What is the best cheap LED manufacturer? I can't afford the good stuff like Johnson Grow Lights, but would still like to get into a reputable LED if at all possible. Budget is $300 - $500 and my tent is a 3' x 3' x 6'11". Thanks everyone!

The best, and only, cheap LED manufacturer is... you.
The only way you can get the amount of light you want for that space at that price is to diy, or you'll need to pay upwards of US $800 if not $1,000

I should have said 'the amount of good light,' because obviously it's possible to buy Mars Hydro or similar at a much lower price point, but you wind up with all of the disadvantages (high electrical usage, short life span, lots of heat) of HPS and few of the advantages of good LEDs.
