First grow. Tight space.

Hey guys and gals. I'm starting to do my first grow. And I'm looking for some advice.
I currently have 4 plants goin. 2 auto's ( which will be goin in my garden outside.) and 2 northern lights that have been grown outside around my home town for a few years now but I would like to put them inside.
The box I have is about 14"x22"x36"h. I have 2 planters about 5" tall. With 2 43w cfls in there one is 24k and the other 65k. And 2 4" pc fans, one is exhaust and the other to bring fresh air in. I'm currently waiting on 5 led grow strips to come that will surround the sides of the box.

My question is will this be too tight of an area? I don't think I need to worry about width or depth too much but it's the height I worry about.

Any help is good help. And if you think I'm crazy or should change anything please let me know. This has to be as stealth and cheap a grow as possible. Thanks.

I'm a little confused.

How old are the NL you have?

I think the biggest thing in a space that small is flowering early enough that when the stretch ends they will not have outgrown the area.


Keeping in mind I've never done this, I think If I was growing out of a PC case I would use SOLO cups( or equiv size) and flower from seed.

Hey mate, your area is larger than mine is, so i believe its very doable (im yet to complete a grow in mine yet) as long as you either flower early enough to keep them short, or you train them to keep them low and predictable during the stretch

Sorry guys trying to get my photo's to load but having a hard time.
I planted both on March 11. Both were started under 2 23w cfls and once sprouted were moved in the box under 2 43w cfls

Nice box, I can't wait to see how it turns out. You might want to avoid getting water on the leafs of your MJ plant though, it looks like they're getting a few burn holes.

What makes you say that it's male? Have you been in flower for a couple of weeks? That's the only way to really know.
Probably want to consider a carbon exhaust filter. Also, I never use an intake fan, just a passive intake. You don't want to pressurize the cabinet and have stank air leaking out.

Both plants turned male. All bud sites were straight ball sacks . My exhaust does blow into a heavy carbon filter. Seems to be working good. Sitting right around 80 degrees with lights and fans on and when lights are off so are the fans

I'd at least leave the exhaust running with lights off. Plants are still alive during the night hours and do a thing called respiration. They will definitely benefit from a little air flow.

I also started off not running my exhaust at night, but once my plants got a little more mature the humidity at night was just too high. It may matter less during veg, but during flower a high night time humidity can mold your bud.

I really hope you didn't chop her down lol even if it's a male if u have no females around experiment with it. You will learn how resilient this plant is, you really have to try to kill it .
