I changed my light schedule to 12/12 about a week ago but it is just getting too hot during the day in a 2 x 2 x 5 tent with 450 watts HPS so I've turned it back to 300 Watts on my digital ballast which should keep temps around 86 max but suspect it will get hotter in the next 8-9 weeks so am thinking about changing my 12/12 from lights running 12 hours during the day to 12 hours of light at night instead. No issues with light creeping in during the day. Will this cause a problem? I was thinking of just keeping lights off or 24 hours then changing the schedule but that seems quite dramatic and am afraid it may hermie my baby?. Any thoughts?
I should add
I do also have a 5 x 5 tent just not setup yet for a later grow since I ended up with only one female out of 4 from bagseed. If the bigger tent would reduce heat somehow I'd sure set it up and finish in it.
The 2 x 2 x 5 has a 4" exhaust going to a filter outside of the room and 2 4" inlets from inside the room. The ambient heat from the tent itself is creating a lot of heat which appears to be part of the problem. Fan is 450 CFM turned to a little less than half speed.
